I would upgrade your monitor then. Would you rather have more detailed images or faster response and smoother gameplay?

Both would be nice but if I had to pick one it would be response time

He could always add a new 2560x1440 monitor at a later date.

Squeezed in an i7 for a bit more money.  Left mass storage out, it can be added in later... when it is needed.

I will add a 144Hz monitor then. Would you mind downgrading the keyboard to one without RGB lighting?

For 1080p 60Hz, a 1060 is more than enough, no need to fork over the extra cash.

I picked a 1070 because i was thinking of upgrading the monitor later on when they become a little more affordable but I see where your coming at

I think you can definitely get a monitor alongside a computer to drive it for your budget :) This option keeps the RGB keyboard.

That mobo won't let you overclock you need a z170 version. I would add an ssd for the os and programs, go for the evga ftw card instead of the msi one and get an evga gq, gs, g1 or g2 instead of the nex
