R9 480X 8GB

Do you mean RX 480? 400-series cards are part of 'R10', not R9

So after finishing both PCs from this thread, I was left with the empty husk of my Enermax Ostrog case and my old MSI R9 270X 2GB.

I've built a sort of budget list for a possible guest PC

This guest PC will mostly be for when I have a friend over, cousins over, or my little niece who loves playing the Lego games I have on Steam.

CPU - Intel Core i3 6100

GPU - 2x MSI R9 270X - Crossfire OR 1x RX 480 8GB / 1x GTX 1060 6GB (If either of the latter cards, then I will get a cheaper single 16x PCI H170 MOBO)

RAM - Kingston HyperX 2x4GB DDR4 2100MHz

MOBO - Gigabyte GA-H170 Gaming 3

SSD - Corsair Force LE 480GB SSD

PSU - Corsair CXM 750W or Corsair CX750

Case - Enermax Ostrog

Budget: $500 or less

I already have an extra LG 42" TV that I used on my old PC plus an LG 19" monitor.

What do you guys think? For 1080p gaming of course. Would be cool if I could build a second guest PC to try and maybe do LAN parties at my house with friends and family (get them into PC gaming). They are already curious after seeing what is possible with a 1080 and 1070 vs their consoles. LOL

i'd go with 500 gig ssd instead of 240 ssd & sshd. if you're using the ssd for o/s & games you wouldn't need a hybrid drive for storage. as far as i know sshd is more for speeding up boot times/frequently used data.

Thank you for the clarification. LOL Haven't been paying too much attention to AMD this time around. Didn't realize that their naming scheme changed.
