Freenas gui not working

Hi there I'm really hoping someone knows what this problem is

Im trying to install freenas 9.10.1 on a fresh build and I can manage to load the software from the usb stick to the point it gives me an IP address 

Then when I try to login in at the address given it goes all weird and hangs on that page when entering log in details

I have googled and found nothing specific to this issue or anything relating to not loading the login page

ive manually changed IP and still same error all web browsers upto date and flash still nothing

Motherboard has the latest bios 

Asus z97p brand new

i3 haswell cpu 

32gb corsair ram 

if you need any more info to help me please ask I'm really struggling

ive read freenas documentation and although it's great it doesn't help with this issue 

In the forum they basically told me "hey go use google" which isn't helpful 

Im hoping someone here may know the answer and would like to help me from my own stupidity

Hi I tried that still does the same thing! Freenas doesn't even show up in my network either?

Have you tried rebooting or defaulting? Are you using a monitor on the FreeNAS machine?

Hi there I've rebooted several times. over 50 since last Sunday I've reinstalled to cd and then to usb several times (not 100% sure I've done it properly) but it loads to page where it gives me the IP and options 1-14!

Yes I have a vga monitor attached

Have you tried a bootable USB rather than installing?

Tbh I thought it was booting from the memory stick?

ive removed the disk drive

Well, you cna install froma USB to a HDD/SSD or USB drive, the bootable installation drive cannot be used AS the drive installed to also for obvious reasons. So you will need 2 * USB drives if you want to run freenas FROM a USB and install from... hope that makes sense.

Paddy it sort of makes sense but the usb boots up and loads freenas?! It gives me an IP address so what would be the point? It's logging in from that point onwards 

And 4 wd red nas drives all 3tb all either blank unused and brand new or I've inadvertently done something to them while trying to load freenas either way there is nothing of importance and there purpose is to start a fresh Windows share on freenas?! Hope this helps?

It's wired to the network and giving you an IP. What options does it give you on the machine?

What should happen with FreeNAS when you enter the IP address is that a window pops up asking for username and password.

I've done this and changed the IP address and still I get the same problem

It's been a long time since I've used FreeNAS. I'm trying to find out how to replicate your issue.

 

Can you try setting an IP manually? It should be #3.

I forgot to ask if you're using multiple browsers?

Number 3 asks me if I want to create or delete a vlan?

ive changed the IP address before to a different one and still I get the same problem?

Can you show a picture of the error? Are you using Kaspersky Anti Virus by any chance?

No I have avg on my laptop when I try to go to the IP address given I get this.....

You need to enter your p/w and username. I believe it's username: root and p/w: freenas

Definitely dont use Edge or IE. That looks like a CSS problem. Try chrome/firefox. If you have any extensions meant to protect you from scripts, make sure it's turned off for freenas.

This is chrome and I get the same thing the 2nd picture is after inputting my username and password! It just hangs!

I have an older version of freenas running at work on an older board using v9.2 of freenas and it works fine but with slow transfer speeds it allows me to connect at the specified IP address given with no problems! But this just doesn't want to work?? What am I doing wrong?? Is the mono Ethernet port configured to plug and play out the box? Where am I going wrong??

Have you tried an older version of FreeNAS like 8?
