First Ever PC Build.

JoKr

Hey guys, this is my first post and i have a few questions about the PC parts I chose before buying it,I wanna know if it is compatible and i also wanna know which parts are just not need and what parts are needed.

By the way,Im 15 and also Im from Singapore and this is also my first PC Build.

Case: Corsair Carbide Series SPEC-01 Mid Tower Gaming Case Black

CPU: Intel® Core™ i3-6100 Processor (3M Cache, 3.70 GHz)

Motherboard: MSI B150M Bazooka Plus Motherboard

Ram: Kingston HyperX FURY 8GB Desktop Memory 2133MHz DDR4 CL14 DIMM 1.2V Low Voltage 288-Pin HX421C14FB/8

PSU: Corsair CX Series CX450M 80 PLUS Bronze Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply

GPU: Palit GeForce GTX 1060 Dual 3GB GDDR5 PCI-E Graphics Card

SSD: 160GB SSD INTEL 320 Series 2.5" SATA Internal Solid State Drive

Extra Case Fan:Corsair Air Series AF120 LED Quiet Edition High Airflow Fan

CPU Heatsink: ID-Cooling SE-214X Heatsink

Thermal Paste: niceEshop 30g Thermal Grease Paste Compound Tube

Total Cost:  SGD 1014.83   =   746.58 USD

Budget is SGD 1100

and also I won't be overclocking.

Question:

1)Is the CPU heatsink needed?

2)Is 1 extra case fan enough?

3)Is the PSU strong enough to run my rig

4)Is the SSD good enough?

5)Is an i3 good enough?

6)Is 8gb of ram good enough?

(I did not put in a HDD as I'm  using the one from my old pc)

My aim is to at least run Overwatch,Gta 5 or Battlefield 1 at atleast Medium or High settings

Thanks and if i post something wrongly, please do correct me.

Swap that I3 for an i5 6600k, it will last longer and you can overclock it later if you want.

Also if your going 1060 GTX do the 6gb version for memory. At high-ultra settings on those games 3gb is going to create bottlenecks to affect performance. 8 GB of ram is fine, most games don't use that much and if you can easily add another 8 later. Ram is one of the cheapest things to upgrade. Currently there are only 1-2 games that actually recommend 16 gb of memory.

I would rather agree on what we share, than fight on what we don't. - Myself

It is suppose to be 1000 SGD but I could go for 1100 SGD,thats why i did not go for a more expensive GPU or a higher CPU

Im not looking to overclock as Im not that good in that kind of things and also,i would not want to upgrade to an i5 6600k(wish i could) as in my country,it is really overpriced.

But is my i3 not good enough? Is it really weak?and can't i run the games i wanted to at least medium settings?

1) You should get a better CPU cooler if you can afford it

2) I'll recommend at least 1 in the back and 1 in the front

3) Get a higher quality one if possible

4) Yes, take a look at Samsung SSDs too

5) Good enough for medium settings in most games

6) Yes it's enough

cx450m is tier 3, pretty decent psu. if you cann spend more get the leadex silver but sticking with the cx450m is still a good choice.

lazada quite a few of the sellers are the distros themselves, or the retailers in sim lim. very reliable.

When Lazada and Q10 have promotion or coupon then the price will be cheaper.

So I should just throw off my shopping list on lazada and look somewhere else?

What do you mean by carousell,Individual sellers,2nd hand sellers or dealers?Should i go sim lim?would the price be higher or lower? Can they be trusted?

Or is there any better Website or source i could buy the parts from in Singapore

get the motherboard and cpu from sim lim, the rest get from lazada. lazada right now got excellent promo code, $100 off for $600 purchases so it'll be cheaper than the stores. the pc component sellers in lazada are usually singapore's main distributors and sim lim's retailers.

It is weak for current and coming gen games, if your not going to over clock go i5 6600 standard if you can afford it.

good enough. but get the 6500 instead, 6600 not worth the extra price. supernova G2 is a tier 1 psu, very good. but the superflower leadex gold is cheaper and the same so i recommend that instead.

Ok so i5 - 6500 and the psu will be the superflower leadex gold 550  watts,is that right?

That should be more than enough for the 1060 and CPU, but I am not familiar with superflower, they may be an off brand with bad quality and one thing you never want to skimp on is the psu, go corsair or evga or cooler master if you can get any of those, preferably with at least a bronze rating.
