Best gaming laptop?

Navic

I am currently looking into getting a gaming laptop, and need some help deciding, but first, I have some requirements.

1. Must be 15-17" or smaller.

2. At least a 1080P screen. (Matt preferably)

3. Not more than an inch thick.

4. Have the new Nvidia 10 series graphics cards.

5. Have an Intel Core i7. (or something of similar spec)

6. 8+ GB of RAM

7. (Optional) RGB per-key keyboard.

8. (Optional) 120Hz+ Monitor.

9. I would like it to be less than $2200 USD.

Edit: I don't care about battery life, I just care about max portability with max power. I tend to go on vacation a lot, so I want something powerful that is easy to take with me.

Thats about it. Thanks for reading!

Razer

Knew someone would comment this. I have been leaning towards the new Razer Blade, but my decision is still not final, and I am open to suggestions.

I have looked at MSI's new laptops, but they seem a little big. Might be ale to make them work though. As for the other ones, I will check them out. Thanks for the suggestion!

Razer

Absolutely fucking trash. Aside from poor company issues like customer support and quality control issues aside, the new blade is fundamentally fucked. The CPU ramps up to 95c+ on a Overwatch load. Overwatch is generally a 60% CPU utilization game for modern quad core i7s. Fucked. That heat is going to kill the laptop and everything inside it. Yes this is the new one with a 1060. Imagine if you're running Witcher 3 or rendering video. Fucked.

Only MSI's GS63VR seems to be able to cool the 1060 inside of it. (Thin and light series). The GS43VR has significant heatpipe design issues.

The Aero 14 is last gen and obsolete at this point.

Aorus X3 is fucked. Going to be just as all the other 14in 10 series Pascal laptops. Hot, loud, unable to cool Pascal cause Pascal is ALOT hotter than Maxwell. X5 is up to debate. If they ended up adding an additional fan to tame the 1070, it might be viable but with no benchmarks or reviews, nobody knows atm.

There's only a few laptops you should consider with Pascal. Because Pascal is so much hotter than Pascal, all 14in laptops released suck ass. They can't cool the 1060 properly and it's going to end up with heat damage on your new machine. Currently the list of 15in laptop that fit your criteria is extremely limited as it takes to cool laptops.

GS63VR - Barely being able to cool the 1060. BARELY. But yes it can cool it. Expect that it'll be extremely loud at 55-60db and terrible battery life at around 2 hours.

P650RP6 - Currently best in class. 1in thick. Cools the 1060 perfectly allowing for OC headroom. 5.5 hours of battery life if you know how to optimize.

2 Other laptops you should look out for are:

Aorus X5v6 - Not alot of hope, but the last gen Maxwell one was good.

Alienware 15 - Just curious. Seems like it has things going for it.

Let me warn you now - Avoid Razer, MSI and Gigabyte's 14' device - ALL OF THEM have heat problems. Blade runs at 95*C and overheats, GS43 runs at 85-90*C and throttles, Aero 14 doesn't have a 1060 but it will also throttle. Aorus ones run extremely loud (60dB - similar to the Blade) and throttle hard

Get a GS63VR if  you want thin, get a Clevo if you want powerful. 10 series simply run VERY hot in laptops

I know that I'm sort of infringing on the OP's topic here, and sorry, but just a quick question. The P650RP6 is from Clevo right? What's its equivalent in Sager? (As in, what Sager model is the Clevo P650RP6?)

Also, @don_svetlio mentioned that the GS63VR barely is able to cool the 1060, what about the GS73VR, what's its temps? (Also the games I play aren't too demanding, the most demanding thing I'll be playing is probably Star Wars: Battlefront)

Again, so sorry if this post is rude and stuff just ignore it.

GS73 isn't better - cooling is the same
