Living with a chromebook

I think that the gtx 960 will start bottleneck the games long before the i5...

My bad I didn't mean that. I ment if you paired it with the current highest end GPU so like the Titan XP or 1080. I5 would not bottleneck the 960 at all.

Oh sorry I have a gtx 960 not 1060

960 is not as fast - it's basically a 970M and performs around 60% better than the 960M and 25% better than the 965M - the Omen 2016 with a 965M and 1080p display is better value than what you have :)

As I mentioned before the hole system set me back around 500 euros (550$?) so NO that laptop costs almost twice as much and does not perform any better in games than my pc...

500 Euros is around 650-700$ - are you factoring in the display, speakers and keyboard?

I guess I could factor in a membrane keyboard and some crappy speakers (that is what you get on a laptop right?) for what 20$-30$ more? As for a display a really good 15-17 inch monitor costs about how much? oh and
500 Euros =
561.32500 U.S. dollars

Actually the post was about me sharing my struggles on setting up chrome os to have some function besides browsing the internets+seeking advice on the subject. It seems that nobody cares so we ended up talking about gaming laptops which is fine by me...

Happens LOL. How's remote streaming? On your Chromebook that is. As in remote I mean longer than the distance of your house. And preferably a continent away, but just far away will do too. In house streaming as always been super smooth for me, but remoting in a continent away is super fucking flaky all the time. It's why I need to bring a Zbook with me everywhere.

Remote desktop streaming on the internet is worse than it should be at this point. I use chrome remote desktop and I can tell you that I do share your point of view on this. Game streaming via the internet is not possible on Chromebooks I think, Remote media streaming on the other hand is great, very satisfied with Plex services.

Lets hope android app compatibility solve some of these issues or I will be switching to linux soon.

Say word man. I have a enterprise network line for desktop at the firm + fastest LTE wherever I go and I still can't stream properly over networks. Remote media streaming has been good for a while. The day networks are fast enough to allow for no latency streaming is the day the entire laptop market dies and gets replaced by ONLY ultrabooks.
