G1 use Chinese capacitors, have mediocre build quality and the electrical performance is not great. G2 are a Super Flower platform with Japanese caps, proper soldering and fantastic electrical stats.

After you have blown your cash on a new PSU, & it hasn't corrected the issue, please post back. In the meantime, take the advice if you wish, but please remember an old adage:

A fool & his money are soon parted. This isn't a slight, just some words of wisdom to exclude all other issues before ever spending cash, ever! I'm leaving this thread because of the trolling, (reported) but good luck....

GQ are good as well but not as good as the G2

Also, have you used DDU when reinstalling drivers?

Try with DDU then.

6W, that was funny.

I still believe it's a software issue because it's locking at 30Hz on multiple games.  Can you try more games and see if it continues to be at 30Hz?  Boot into safe mode and use DDU to wipe the drivers, it's much more effective.

That being said, having a cheap PSU is like running cheap gas so it's a worthwhile upgrade regardless of it being the issue or not.

@Gordon Bennett The only one trolling is the guy reporting people for opinions about computer components.  Opinions that are shared by many in the community.  You don't agree, and that's fine, but that does not make you any more correct.

Try an older driver

Just used the program. Should i try and use the newest driver first or an older one

I'd start with the newest to see if it works, then work your way backwards if it doesn't.

To clear up a few things; A good quality PSU should be able to deliver most (80-90%) of it's rated power on the +12v rail(s) alone. This one the OP has is designed with two 12v rails. 27A on one and 28A on the other. Combined, it delivers only about 660w on the 12v rails. This is an 850w rated PSU. That raises huge red flags alone.

A PSU that cannot provide enough clean power can cause a GPU to perform less than expected. I have experienced this first hand with 2 different GPUs (which both died as a result) before I figured out the PSU was bad.

That being said, what makes me think this is not PSU related issue is because all the OP's games are running at a fixed 30fps. Lack of power from a PSU would not cause this, rather just an overall degradation of performance in general (and eventually, black screen).

So while I would still HIGHLY recommend the OP replace that PSU ASAP, I'm leaning more towards this being a software-related issue, considering the 30fps limit.

@WoodChuckers, can you tell us the GPU clocks and GPU usage % during game play? Also, what are you using to monitor frame rates?

As far as I know my GPU clock is at 1708 when running games and i am using nvidia shadow play to clock my fps

Ok. When you say you're getting 30fps, is it locked at 30 or is that the average? (goes up and down?)

Are you sure your games are running in full screen and not windowed mode?

Do you know what the GPU usage is while gaming?

use msi afterburner and post a screen shot of GPU clock temp usage plot for a game play (GTA of COD). and also fps record as MEC--777 requested. This will help diagnose whats going on.
