GTX 1050 Perfomance?

What do you think, What will be the power of the GTX 1050?

Every Pascal card was better than last gen Maxwell card(same tier) by ~80%.

GTX 1080 = 980 + 80% more power (>TitanX)

GTX 1070 = 970 + 80% more power (>980 Ti)

GTX 1060 = 960 + 80% more power ( ~980)

But can 1050 get 80% more perfomance than 950? That would make it 1050 = 970, but thats very unlikely.

A lot of people are saying that 1050 will compete with RX 460, but I really doubt it. 460 is very weak, It sits in between GTX 750 Ti and 950 in DX11. And In Dx12 and Vulkan it wins, but not by much. I think 1050 will have power of R9 380X, because there Is a big difference in RX 460 and RX 470, and R9 380X just sits in the middle, Its quiet possible GTX 1050 to have RX 470 power, but again Its highly unlikely. 380X is really powerful card, but it generates a lot of heat and is very power hungry.

Also 2GB and 4GB variants might have different specs like Nvidia did with GTX 1060.

What do you think?

I'm guessing it would be a bit ahead of the 960 and similar to a 380 or 280x.

Also until someone says that 1050 can be GTX 960, That shouldn't be possible. There is only 15-20% difference in 950 and 960, in some games FPS difference is 3-4.

Highly unlikely - 1050 is rumoured to have 768 CUDA coroes - similar to a 950 - if that turns out to be true, it would be around a R9 380 at best. You see, Pascal is the SAME general concept as Maxwell - result is - nothing groundbreaking

I saw that, but even 1060 had lower specs than 980, but they are almost identical.

Its just new chip, we cant say much about those numbers.

We can - Pascal performs THE SAME as Maxwell clock for clock. A 1500MHz 1050 would perform EXACTLY the same as a 1500MHz 950 if the leak was real.

Look at the DX11 games - it's the same as a 950 or better there as well

I think it will sit somewhere between the 960 and the 970 in performance. Likely closer to the 960 though. 380ish performance. It's big selling point will be that it will be a 75watt or less card: no 6pin connector at all. Probably passive versions, half height versions, single slot versions, etc. Everything we did get with the 750 and 750ti but didn't get with the 950 will be there as the main selling points.

Which is actually exiting: I can't wait to put one of this cards on a really low powered enclosure and such. But well it won't be exited for most gamers though.

I dont consider 5FPS difference same, especially if we are talking about 30fps vs 25fps.

In some games it really is identical. I would agree with you that if you are buying 950 now, RX 460 is better option.

Well yeah, in US it probably wont sell good. but it will sell fine in Asia and Europe. for example GTX 1060 6GB version here costs $400(Asus strix triple fan version, we dont have more), and GTX 1060 3GB version(EVGA 1 Fan) costs $345. Also our retailers doesn't ship AMD cards, simply because they think AMD is trash. So we only have Nvidia cards >:(

Speak for yourself - Currently there are loads of cheaper 1060s and 480s available in Germany, Britain, The Balkans and France.

Hopefully for christmas Georgia will get its shit together and have better options to buy graphics cards. Thats why I am waiting for 1050, I can enjoy 1080p medium 60fps just fine.

C2D will bottleneck you badly with a 1050 class GPU. Look into an i3 or Athlon X4

Thing is Nvidia cards cost less here, like there are R7 370 and GTX 950 in stores and 370 costs 20$ more but delivers smaller perfomance. I hope this trend wont continiue with RX 470
