Where do you work and what do you do?

chillxnate

My wife an I recently reloacted to the Louisville, Kentucky area. While looking for a new position in K12 I.T. I worked at the ASUS North American warranty repair center, so maybe I've had the pleasure of talking to some of you on the phone! Since then though I have found a job doing what I did previously, and thats desktop support for a K12 school distrcit. So, what do you fuys do? Or what do you aspire to do?

I really want to move out of London and get a good career in IT (leaning towards network). At the end of my course I'll have an IT qualification which is  3 A level equivalent + a Cisco qualification. I'd love to earn £50k so I can get my dream car, overpowered PC (don't hate me because of the overpowered PC but I'm a "show off" kinda guy) and of course a house!

I work at a place where 99% of the population is teenagers, you work 10 hours a day, and you don't get paid.

Life is pain. Anyone who says any different is either selling something or the government.

Network engineering courses aren't up to date so they kinda suck.

Anyway I'm a network admin / IT manager / Machine support at a certain big time wholesaler and retailer. Me and the CEO/manager/shareholder are talking about opening a 4th root business in the chain which I will basically manage.

I'm not doing a Network Engineering course, I'm doing a IT course fullstop. It covers all aspects of computing including coding, design, networking, etc. On top of all this, I got offered a Cisco course free of charge which will boost me up into the network area.

I used the money I got from university bursorys (almost £3000 + money I saved during collage).  The money was supposed to be used for text books and stuff, but I had no need for any of it so I just saved it and eventually bought a decent enough pc.  I get £106 every 2 weeks from the job center, £100 of which goes to my parents every month for board (they won't accept anymore, I already had to insist over and over for them to take £100) so I have nothing to spend any spare money on, Its just getting saved up and I can buy what I want.

I guess I forgot to mention that I'm attending classes to obtain my national certification as an Emergency Medical Technician. So I might be ditching the IT world to cruise the city streets in my very own booboo bus!
