First Time Water Cooling Loop Check

Hey,

I want to build my first water cooling loop.

At the moment i have a in win 303 case, a Rx 480 and a Xeon E3-1231 v3.

https://www.inwin-style.com/de/gaming-chassis/303

But the loop should be able to fit an additional graphic card.

I already put together the parts, but i have no experience with water cooling so it would be really nice if you could give me your opinion about this setup.

I would take the Alphacool NexXxoS UT60 Full Copper X-Flow 360mm Radiator and mount it in the top. http://www.aquatuning.de/wasserkuehlung/radiatoren/radiatoren-aktiv/20482/alphacool-nexxxos-ut60-full-copper-x-flow-360mm-radiator

For Gpu and Cpu block i thought about taking the XSPC Blade Radeon RX480 and the XSPC RayStorm CPU Intel 1366/1156/1155/2011.

http://www.aquatuning.de/wasserkuehlung/gpu-kuehler/gpu-komplettkuehler/21038/xspc-blade-radeon-rx480

http://www.aquatuning.de/wasserkuehlung/cpu-kuehler/cpu-wasserkuehler/12533/xspc-raystorm-cpu-intel-1366/1156/1155/2011

As pump i thought about taking the Alphacool Eisbecher DDC 250mm Acetal or the  Alphacool Eisbecher D5  250mm Acetal.

http://www.aquatuning.de/wasserkuehlung/ausgleichsbehaelter/roehrenbehaelter/60mm-l/19434/alphacool-eisbecher-d5-250mm-acetal-ausgleichsbehaelter

http://www.aquatuning.de/wasserkuehlung/ausgleichsbehaelter/roehrenbehaelter/60mm-l/19421/alphacool-eisbecher-ddc-250mm-acetal-ausgleichsbehaelter?c=286

I want to mount the pump directly at the reservoir and the mount it at vertical at the bottom with http://www.aquatuning.de/wasserkuehlung/ausgleichsbehaelter/roehrenbehaelter/60mm-zubehoer/20583/alphacool-standfuss-fuer-eisdecke/eisbecher-serie-schwarz

But i'm not sure if i should take the ddc or the d5 for this loop.

For fittings i would take 2 angled fitting for the gpu block and 2 for the radiator http://www.aquatuning.de/wasserkuehlung/anschluesse/anschraubtuellen/1310mm/11724/alphacool-hf-13/10-anschraubtuelle-900-drehbar-g1/4-deep-black?c=12098

And for the cpu and reservoir/pump i would take the http://www.aquatuning.de/wasserkuehlung/anschluesse/anschraubtuellen/1310mm/20674/alphacool-eiszapfen-13/10mm-anschraubtuelle-g1/4-deep-black

For the tubing i would take the http://www.aquatuning.de/wasserkuehlung/schlaeuche/schlaeuche/16229/alphacool-schlauch-alphatube-hf-13/10-3/8-id-klar-3m-9-8ft-retailbox?c=361

And for closing the left not used howls at the reservoir and the pump i would buy three of these http://www.aquatuning.de/wasserkuehlung/anschluesse/verschluesse-und-stopfen/20668/alphacool-eiszapfen-verschlussschraube-g1/4-deep-black?c=272

Finally i would add Mayhems concentrate  https://www.caseking.de/mayhems-pastel-uv-konzentrat-mint-green-250ml-wazu-476.html

In addition i thought about adding at the output of the pump these for emptying the System:

http://www.aquatuning.de/wasserkuehlung/anschluesse/adapter/11743/alphacool-hf-y-450-verbinder-g1/4-drehbar-2x-innen-1x-aussengewinde-deep-black?c=281

http://www.aquatuning.de/wasserkuehlung/anschluesse/kugelhaehne-ventile/19989/alphacool-eiszapfen-2-wege-kugelhahn-g1/4-deep-black?c=282

http://www.aquatuning.de/wasserkuehlung/anschluesse/adapter/13002/alphacool-hf-doppelnippel-g1/4-ag-auf-g1/4-ag-mit-o-ring-deep-black

http://www.aquatuning.de/wasserkuehlung/anschluesse/verschluesse-und-stopfen/20668/alphacool-eiszapfen-verschlussschraube-g1/4-deep-black?c=272

Are the parts ok?

Which of the pumps ddc or d5 do i need?

Can i combine the parts without problem?

Is one radiator enough?

Is the addition of the parts for emptying the systems worth it?

Have i forgotten something?

Just buy an All in One water cooler, Custom Loop isn't any better cuz it performs similar to an All in one one.

Completely useless comment and not even close to correct. A custom loop will typically cool better and quieter than any custom AiO. (Better being a graduated thing where 2 to 3 degrees gain is considered good). As well, a custom loop is a LOT more expandable and has a ton more options and looks a hell of a lot better.

To OP - all your choices are fine. First off, plan for extra fittings, when putting together, you will find out things don't run the way you want. I few 45' fittings are great. I hardly ever use 90's, typically 45's.

360mm rad should be fine as long as you not doing any serious OC'ing. Blocks and such are fine. Typically no one block out performs any other by more than a degree. Mostly just about looks.

Pumps, but the DDC and D5 are fine. Great pumps. Personally, the D5 PWM version and that will run a bit quieter.

Overall, good pic, don't forget about tubing.

And you typically don't need to by extra plugs. The res will typically come with plugs for all ports except two, your in and out. You pick which ones you use and plug the rest.

A drain can be a nice extra to have.

How did it go fitting the ut60mm in the top of the case? I thought there was only 70mm of clearance in the top of the 303?

I was looking into this same case also.  Not too much room on top of the case, but my plan was to use the case upside down and put a bigger 60mm radiator on the bottom(or top in this scenario).  Would probably use and ITX mobo to fit the radiator too.

Totally wrong... what you SHOULD say is that an AIO doesn't perform any better than AIR cooling. Now THAT is true.

OP, I don't know if you'll get that rad in the top, there's not a great deal of room there. You may find it's a problem when you come to add fittings and tubing. Plus with one rad that works better with high fan RPM, your system probably won't be that quiet. This case easily takes x2 360's, although SLI is tight if you ever wanted to go that route. Still do-able though. See my build in my sig. I just went with single GPU, but I've measured and I could get another in there.

ITX will look tiny in this case, I wouldn't do that. MATX is fine, but it's not necessary. ATX/E-ATX with bottom rad/fans means you do have to think a bit more as you build, as once the bottom rad/fans are plugged in, you aren't getting access to the bottom of your mobo. Also, if your mobo has the USB 3.0 header running along the bottom, you would need an extension for that, as there would simply be no room for those big fat blue connectors cases use.

Aio's don't cool nearly as well as an open loop. Go open and have better everything.
