Aftermarket vs Stock Cooler. No development!

Exactly! That's the way I did but man, 212x was hard to install! Fearing too!! The ambient room temp is 30'c. Just ended playing Syndicate for 1.5 hours. Went up to 60'c.10 am. Will install another exhaust fan on the cooler. Not so costly one. Antec F19. Can reduce 2'c for least, right?

It doesn't. The mounting pressure should squeeze out any air as long as there's enough paste. 

Which stock cooler did you have? If it was the Wraith, the Hyper 103 would have been a downgrade as opposed to an upgrade. If it was the previous older stock cooler, the Hyper 103 is a slight upgrade but not much. 

It seems like the plastic mounting brackets on the board were removed. Make sure they are tight since they determine how good the contact between the heatsink and cpu is.

Sir, I checked those up all the way. Nothing wrong. I had the older stock cooler. This is vexing me from the last day. @SamStrecker told that if it's 68'c, then I'm okay. I'm really confused. Many peoplea re conveying many thoughts at a time. Not sure, which to follow..

Do you agree though that 68C for an AMD CPU is A OK?

Sorry for the late reply. Was night in India. I use HW Monitor for the last two years. Posting a screen shot. Time was 11.30 am. Room temp 32'c to 35'c when I took these readings. You are a provost sir. Help me because I am baffled too much.

I don't have a zero knowledge, you might put 2 or 3 before the zero. I build others' builds but this time when it came to mine, I am trembling because of the temp. My bad that I thought this hyper 103 would do a grand job. Installing-uninstalling, Installing-uninstalling, Installing-uninstalling...I am all over thermal compound. Luke told in a video to apply the pea method. I did that. Waiting for @WoodenMarker to rescue me. My hip is paining dealing with that cabinet for 20 times since the last day..

Can you post readings at load? Idle temps don't really matter.

Also, do you have a photo of the cooler in your system? It came to mind that the heatsink might not be facing in the most optimal direction for moving heat away from the cpu.

Oh gosh...I uninstalled the cooler last night. I could take a screenshot on load..bad..but I can show you some photos of the thermal paste. Thick or thin, I couldn't decide. Here they are, don't know how much these photos mean but what did you think initially seeing these temps? Any anomaly you are noticing sir?1.jpg

Are you referring to a thick on thin application of thermal paste? You should be applying enough to cover any gaps. It seems like you're missing the sides of the cpu. 

I don't see any issue with the readings so far. Readings are also less reliable for AMD when it comes to lower temps.

Yes, I missed the sides. I thought that it would spill and conduct the cpu by coming down from the side..fear I had.

It shouldn't run down the sides. If you're missing thermal paste, high temps is pretty normal. You should finish applying the rest of the thermal paste and see what the resulting temps are with the Hyper 103 before trying to return it.

That should be fine. I usually turn the cooler back and forth a bit to help manually spread the paste around and double check before screwing everything in.

There hasn't been any evidence showing one method being better than another. As long as thermal paste is doing its job of filling in the gaps between the cpu and heatsink instead of air, you should be fine.

Exactly! 1 fan in the back but a panicky like me installed 2 more on the top as outtake, 2 in the front as intake and 1 is already installed in the back. Though I jumbled up the fans. One thing is bad. All fans are with 1200 RPM. Should I get on with 2000 RPM? Not sure.

no u don't need 2000 rpm fans ..... and u also don't need that many fans 2 as intake and 1 as exaust are enough for any build ...... and no u don't need to make holes ?? ....... look at this .......

considering the high CPU temps of your cpu i think u should get something better like hyper 212x u can also overclock with that cooler and u will also get thermal paste with it so no need to worry about that too

Yep I know the facts..was just worried about the very thin cutouts on the top and the front. I did one thing. Removed the filters. Those are bad I thought. I have made a custom table only for this machine. Has a riser at the bottom. Will post the photos after all the problems get solved. Hey Tim, where are you from? If you don't mind to say.

Yep I know the facts..was just worried about the very thin cutouts on the top and the front. I did one thing. Removed the filters. Those are bad I thought. I have made a custom table only for this machine. Has a riser at the bottom. Will post the photos after all the problems get solved. Hey Tim, where are you from? If you don't mind to say.

lol .... thek h par mujhe nahi lagtah it will make a difference more than 1°C ....

 

u can do one thing open the side panel plug the fan connectors out ..... just leave one intake connected ..... as more fans in open bench will create turbulence which will not cool properly ..... OR  if you can take out everything put it on motherboard that will be great but will take time.

Then check the temps if the temp change is more than 5°C then i would blame the case if not then case is going it's job.
