Gelid GC Extreme - work with both aluminium and copper?

I can't seem to find a straight answer to this, so I ask you guys: Can I use Gelid GC Extreme with both aluminium and copper baseplates on the heatsink? E.g. Coollaboratory's liquid metals are not usable with aluminium.

Yeah, the copper plate was an okay. But how about nickel and aluminium? Any possible negative reactions to that?

Only things with gallium in react to metals.  So liquid metal and thermal grizzly conductanaut.

no. it does attack any type of metal or plastic

I dont understand. Your coolers are only in the mid class/ low range so why would you use something like liquid metal?

 

nowadays, only extreme OCing user would use that stuff after delidding their cpu with a high end cpu cooler.

But that's why I am asking about the Gelid. It is not a liquid metal compound, it is an exact opposite with super high viscosity. Gelid claims that it is a non-corrosive, non-conductive compound that works great with copper (even as a polisher), but they do not mention anything about usage with nickel-coated heatsinks or alumin(i)um based heatsinks.

 

So I am looking for the best non-metal, non-conductive, non-liquid compound and thus I look at the Gelid.

To be honest, CLU makes such a big difference in temperatures for $12, that I'd recommend someone to delid + CLU their chip over upgrading to a $100 cooler.  It will do basically the same thing, if not better.  

 

I used to use thermal grizzly between my IHS & die, and a while back decided to try CLU.  Totally worth it, made a big difference. I never used to be able to run 5 Ghz 24/7 until I got CLU, and because the temperatures were so much lower, it allowed me to stabilize it.  I can run Prime95 now at 1.43v 5 ghz, and only hit 70c max, previously it'd be 85-90c.
