You will have to get a new cpu as well as the haswell chip will not be able to fit in he skylake board. Ik you have a 4770k, or 4790k it isn't worth the upgrade, and if you have a lower end chip upgrading to one of the one's previously mentioned is a cheaper option that still won't bottleneck a 1080.

 •E5-2670 @2.7GHz • Intel DX79SI • EVGA 970 SSC• GSkill Sniper 8Gb ddr3 • Corsair Spec 02 • Corsair RM750 • HyperX 120Gb SSD • Hitachi 2Tb HDD •

Yes I have a 4770k which is still a beast, don't plan on upgrading it any time soon

The 4770k will not work with a z170 board, they have different sockets.

Also should I upgrade my MOBO that I currently have or leave it?  Not sure if there are Haswell MOBOs out there that may be a good upgrade and have similar color scheme. (Gold, Black & Yellow)
