For-profit college chain ITT Technical Institute shuts down

Nowak

I know the first time I heard about them back in 2007- I didn't like it one bit. The course credits cannot be transferred to any other colleges. So if you want a degree in nursing, you might wanna just finish it all there from LPN to RN. But even after that, no big hospital around my area likes to hire them. I know how tragic this is- I have a co-worker that's on the last semester of her RN program and this broke out... 4 years of schooling might get reduced to a handful of credits accepted by other schools.

This is true, but it comes at the cost of higher taxes. So, in effect, while you don't have to directly pay for college, taxpayers end up paying for your education instead.

And thats a problem ? The alternative is being in debt for years,

Taxes arent the worst thing in the world you know

Let me tell you a little story about non-profit, fully publicly funded universities in my country (Paraguay):

-Clases are suspended indefinitely, by the students, for the third time in two years, because of corruption scandals involving all of the university staff (yes, all of them). These scandals include over cost in infrastructure and  nepotism.

That's what you get with a publicly funded anything. Corruption and low education standards.

Yes, private, for profit institutions can be corrupt, but only the costumers of such are affected, not all tax payers.

AND FUCK TAXES.
