Is it just me or does the vast majority of text on the forums appear in bold font lately?  Not sure if this is intentional or a bug that needs fixing.

I get this too. Except on my phone.

Strange.  I fired up my Linux VM and it doesn't appear to be an issue over there.  Although, you said you were getting the issue on your phone so I'm not sure if it's related to a graphics driver bug.

For me, the font is as it should be in the login field, which leads me to believe it's another site bug.  So far, I'm only seeing this issue on LTT.

Nope, I don't have it (On Chrome, Opera and FireFox, checked this thread)). Maybe it's a setting in Windows for you or whatever, since you have it on FF and Chrome?

This definitely seems to be a bug.  No idea why it's not occurring on my VM, unless it's driver-related.  Here's an example of a post from the Tek Syndicate thread that's a bit half-and-half.  I reproduced this same result in both Chrome and Firefox—both updated to the latest stable release.

The weird thing is that it seems to only be isolated to LTT.

You don't have any weird extensions or

doodads installed via the stylish addon

Forum looks fine to me in firefox and

chrome atleast.

Perhaps an issue with the theme?

Looks perfectly fine to me on the dark theme.

Nvm, just tried light theme and it looks fine as well.

Not sure what the issue could be then, maybe some buggy extension? Have you tried restarting your pc?

Ah, then perhaps it's a issue with the specific font on your PC.

I don't see how as it doesn't happen on any other site so far.  Real head scratcher for sure.

I fixed it—sort of.  I reverted back to a system image I made a little over a week ago and the problem appears to be fixed in Chrome.  Firefox automatically synced my new add-ons and the problem showed up again.  I had checked all the options except for sync bookmarks, refreshed Firefox and the problem still persists.

It's also still in Internet Explorer.  I guess I could reinstall Windows, but it would've been nice to avoid that.

Update:

After moving to Windows 10, this issue has crept back on me (my main reason for blowing away my Windows 7 installation).  A day or two ago, I installed EVGA's Precision X OC just to create a more aggressive fan profile for higher boost clocks.

The issue seems to be related that.  I reverted back to system restore point and the issue is fixed.  According to an OP on EVGA's forums from 2014, the software for some reason deletes the Arial Bold font from the Windows folder.

Why this is still an issue after so many revisions, I don't know.

WTF? Is that why this has been happening? I've been driving myself insane trying to figure it out.

When you accidentally delete the font instead of using it. Great programming skills EVGA.

Can someone who is having this issue please customise their default font, to see whether that helps? To do that in Chrome, open settings and search for "font", then click "customise fonts", and change the standard and sans-erif fonts to something else; in Firefox, open preferences > content > advanced (under fonts and colours) and change the standard and sans-serif fonts.

I think this should be fixed in the next update, which should be in the next couple of weeks.

I remember in my trial and error, I did find that switching to Arial did work.  I do not remember If Sans-Serif worked.  I have since used a restore point to correct the issue, which unfortunately also means not using the software.

If I'm not mistaken, the software will not run without a GPU being detected, correct?  I have a Windows 7 VM I could use to re-create the issue but it may not run in a virtualized environment.
