If you do it wrong I can pretty much say it will leak

this highly depends on you as the builder. if you tighten everything down correctly, the chances are somewhere 0 and 0.1%. if you make an error while building the loop, the chance of leaks increases.

Once you have it built and assuming you didn't do a bad job with too short of tubes or tubes that required a lot of flexing to get into place, I'd say it's almost never going to happen unless you damage the system moving it.

 

For clarification:

1. Fittings are the number one possible source of leaks and honestly are the biggest reason I like to only use simple compression end fittings without rotaries or anything. This type of fitting isn't going to leak years down the road with normal use.

2. I can't say this works the same way with soft-tubing (I don't do soft tubing), but conceivably it could stretch and deform with time.

soft tubing is pretty much the same as hard tubing in this point. before it leaks on it's own one of the O-rings in the compression fittings will have already hardened and will be leaking. this is because most O-rings in common PC fittings are 'regular' 70-shore fittings. if you where to replace them with 90-shore fittings you would have a much longer lifespan. 

but we are talking over the course of decades here now. :P

then replace it with a new one

refill the loop
