First Gaming Build

Hi everybody, I've been wanting my own rig for a while now and I've put together a list of components that can be purchased in my residing country(Sri Lanka)

This PC will be primarily for 1080p Gaming and Video Editing and I will upgrade to at-least a 1440p monitor in the near future.

I want this PC to run the latest games for the next 3 years at max settings 1440p

Please advice on my build list and i have attached two of the store price list links if anyone wants give me a better alternative.

Would recommend upgrading to a 1080 if your looking for 1440p maxed out for the next 3+ years, the 1070 may need some tweaking of settings. Also, you should get an SSD for boot drive. Once you go SSD you will NEVER.... EEEEEEEEEVVVVVVVVVVVEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.... be the same again... Also, from personal experience the Cooler Master JetFlo fans.. they literally sound like a jet engine... I would highly recommend NOT getting those and get something from Corsair like the Airflow 120mm Quiet Editions.

Not the corsair vs, not good. Especially for a rig like this. What other choices do you have?

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Heatsink: Gelid Phantom Black GPU: Palit RTX 3060 Ti Dual RAM: Corsair DDR4 2x8GB 3000Mhz mobo: Asus X570-P case: Fractal Design Define C PSU: Superflower Leadex Gold 650W

Thanks legacy99, I don't think I could go for a 1080 at this juncture cause it's just too expensive, however thanks for the fan tip, is 4 fans overkill though?

no, just that the jetflo's are extremely loud, they do legitimately sound like jet engines even with LNA's attached. The Corsair AF120QE's would be ideal.

I want to get everyone's advice on each component, and tell me if I'm not being practical with the processor, ram,VGA etc..

And are Palit cards good?

Should I go with an RX 480 8GB?

Palit is exclusive to Europe so I can not comment on them, but I do believe TTL at OC3D does review them so I assume they will be decent and near identical to all the rest of the mainstream cards.

I'm a bit confused as to which motherboard I should go for, the MSI z170 g43 or the Asus z170 pro gaming?

Also any major benefits between the i5 6600k and the i7 6700?
