What are your thoughts on Nintendos Codename NX?

If it'll be cartridge-based, I'm all for it. Low load times were the best part of the Nintendo consoles until memory chips limited their size compared to discs. I don't care for realistic graphics as most of Nintendo IP's use their own graphic style and they are the only company to successively hit 60 frames per second on the most consoles compared to the competition. The programing shown by Nintendo would lead me to believe that they could definitely make this work in a way that will change the game.

But personally, it's really good. Unlike  xbox and ps4, it's not directly competing with the pc gaming industry. It will be the trailblazer of the portable and powerful sector. It will use a nvidia parker processor with 256 cuda cores on pascal architecture. it will be the most powerful and portable system on the market.

Even if they make a shitbrick, if the games are good and they market it right it will sell like weed on the night of April 19th, they did it before, and they can do it again, it's not about the hardware with them, it's about the games..

At this stage it's too early to say what I think about it given we don't really know much about it. But if it is as the rumours suggest? I'm more than happy with the idea of a portable system that sits somewhere between the Wii U and XBOne. Especially one that has all the exclusive Nintendo IP that I will always want to get. As far as I'm concerned with the NX as it is rumoured to be? All you need is a PC and the NX.

 

Of course how enthusiastic I actually am will depend on what games it has at launch, the price and what it actually is etc.

I think it's a  push in the right direction to blend the portable and home console market into one, but it's just one of those things we'll have to see.

 

Besides if the rumors are true, I am enjoying its prototype/older sibling/etc. the NVIDIA Shield K1

More or less.  It the only reason I buy Nintendo consoles and handhelds.  Funny thing is, I play the crap out of them far more than my PC games.

 

Plus, if they announce a new Xenoblade or Fire Emblem.  I be all over it.  Or some more of Tokyo Mirage.  Love the battle system in that game, plus that fact the bosses don't give slack.  Only thing I would love to see again is another Pokemon Stadium with all the new pokes.  Talk about game you could dump hours into trying to beat everything and get all the trophies.

F#CKING AGREED! Gaming at this point should be PC and Nintendo.
