Mic recommendations apart from Yeti/Yeti Pro/AT2020

Kenoxabe

Hey guys.

Quick question. Currently doing YouTube Gameplay videos. Mic from Clouds II sucked balls.  Decided to go buy a dedicated one. Willing to go for an XLR Setup.

Audio Interface in mind is Focusrite Scarlett Solo.

What mic would you recommend? (Except for AT2020s/Yeti. I feel like they're already mainstream. But if there's no other choice...then OK...as long as it's XLR)

Budget : $110 MAXIMUM (for MIC ONLY including shipping, etc etc mic isn't all that abundant in my country like you guys from the western part of the world. LOL. If there are bundles, that'll do)

NOTE : XLR Input please. Don't need other features like pick up patterns since I'll only use Cardioid mode and I'll be buying the focusrite scarlett solo to get that monitor feature.

What does this mean? Are you trying to be "cool" and "hip"?

Not really. It just doesn't sit right with me. Don't get me wrong, it's not like I don't like em. I clearly don't have any experience with them too. I just want a different brand suggestion because I have this stigma of some items that are already famous, gets recommended, I buy it, then it doesn't turn out well for me. If anything, I want to have a WIDER selection of brands to look into.

It may have sounded off as I wanna be hip or cool, but that's not the case.

English isn't my primary language so basically, what I might say may or may not sound "weird" or "different" to you guys since we convey what we want to say differently. :)

Sometimes this is true, like with the ATH M50X. Other times, stuff gets recommended because it's the best value.

If you want something different, you can always spend more and get something less "mainstream".

Exactly...

ANYWAY. I updated my price, since I forgot that in my $220, I'm also going to purchase that focusrite. LOL. so $110 for the Focusrite, and $110 for the mic.

Any recommendation for me? :)

Not really. $110 doesn't leave a lot of room to get creative.

I've used an MXL Tempo for nearly 3 years now. Sounds pretty good and havent had any issues with it whatsoever. Though, it doesnt run through XLR.

Maybe try a Shure SM58? It uses XLR and costs around 100$ but needs a base, it doesn't come connected to one. Its geared more for live performances but has excellent quality.

Receiver: Denon AVR-1612

Desktop: R7 1700, GTX 1080  RX 580 8GB and other stuff

Laptop: ThinkPad P50: i7 6820HQ, M2000M. ThinkPad T420s: i7 2640M, NVS 4200M

Maybe the MXL 770?

The MXL 770 is a great mic for 100$ and comes with a mount.
