60Hz monitor

I noticed that you could overclock your monitor so I gave it ago. I have a BenQ monitor and so I made a custom resolution in Nvidia Control Panel. Now when I tested it I could get it to go to 75Hz but my query is that I'm sure a HDMI cable is only able to do 60Hz. However I tried a couple of programmes too see if it was actually at 75Hz and it was. Does the quality of the HDMI cable have anything to do with this.

No it is more of a bandwidth issue. Higher quality only means something up to a point. A $1000 monster cable does nothing from a $20 Best Buy cable. But cheap cables have been known to harm performance on the X34. They also might break sooner.

So can HDMI cables go above 60Hz then cause I'm confused as I was under the impression they couldn't do more than that. Thanks again all.

Yes, all these things about HDMI being limited to 1080p, or HDMI being limited to 60 Hz, are just myths.
