144hz Flickering

JamesRKD

Okay, so I recently purchased a 144hz monitor and "Oh Boy" the difference it makes. I am very happy and everything except when I exit a 3D application (games and such) and go to my desktop or something 2D. It tends to flicker once or twice and then be okay for a little bit and then do it again. I solved the issue by going down to 120hz but I payed for a 144hz and would like the full thing. I know the difference between 120hz and 144hz is small and almost not noticeable I'm just kinda upset it doesn't work for what its advertised at.

I have 2 monitors...

Acer GN246HL (144hz)

BenQ GL2460 (60hz)

Could they be somehow conflicting with each other being different refresh rates?

I think it's a matter of the desktop being locked at a certain framerate but the game running at higher / lower framerate. Would setting the game to borderless window help?

I get this issue as well with 2 60Hz displays, so it's not the mismatched refresh rates.

We have a NEW and GLORIOUSER-ER-ER PSU Tier List Now. (dammit @LukeSavenije stop coming up with new ones)

You can check out the old one that gave joy to so many across the land here

Good idea I will give this a try! Also thanks for eliminating the mismatched refresh rates as a possible issue. :)
