Need video editing software

So I made an amateur cruise video and whanted to do some editing, speed it up around 25%, switch the audio for music, etc. But ive never done this before, could you suggest a simple and free editing software.

Lightworks is free for most effects and 1080p, I use it to stick videos together and compress them, it takes a while to load but has never crashed in 1+ years

I use Cyberlink Power Director, it costs $50, but you can try it.... It's very simple.... Even I can use it (and I am a complete Noob at video editing)

Free video editing?

Don't you have Windows movie maker installed already?

Jokes aside, no free software can stand up to payed. Have a look at Sony Vegas if you'll continue to edit video, but until then I'd say stick to Windows movie maker.

I actually tried movie maker a couple of months ago, cant renember what for, but I couldent remove the sound of an mp4 or avi file.

According to the Lightworks webpage it's just 720p
