I still think Witcher 2 could do it, with redundant levels of AA. Ubersampling + 8/16x driver forced AA + OGSSAA. Yeah, that should totally do it. The 980 Ti/Titan X (Maxwell) still struggled to completely max out Witcher 2 (Again, redundant levels of AA) at a solid 60fps. 

 

I feel like it was CDProject Red's best troll ever. A way to annoy people with high-end PC's that claim they can max anything, lol.

Disagreed. My wife's i3-4150/GTX 750 Ti rigs hangs in there like a champ on most titles. Can't run a ton of AA, but even Far Cry 4 and Overwatch look good and play at a smooth 50-60 FPS. I wouldn't buy a card with less than 6GB if I intended to use it for modern games going forwards, but even 2GB is far from over and done with.

3 GB might be still good enough for 1080p, but it's 2016, 4 GB should be the minimum. But yeah, this card simply cannot use a 4 GB vram, it's either 3 GB or 6 GB, or maybe 3+1 GB?

Yes, on the old version of the game. I gave you a video with the new version of the game running fine on 4GB cards.

Looking at memory used and arguing that is how much you require is absolutely terrible.

 

For example, Rise of the Tomb Raider can use up to 8GB+ on a Titan X, but when you compare the relative performance against a 6GB 980TI, there is nothing more than the usual performance gap. Games like to use what is available, that does not imply there will be a huge delta in performance is that number is not available.

 

It's very simple, provide the evidence or don't make the claim.

To be fair, the 780 Ti would hit its limits at raw power long before memory became an issue with Witcher 2. It was completely incapable of maxing Witcher 2 with Ubersampling alone (No redundant AA) because the card itself was not powerful enough to handle it.

I have never seen a 6GB 780 Ti. The only card i saw was the 780 (which had both 3gb and 6gb). If you know of any 780 Ti's that had 6GB, i'd love a link. Wouldn't mind finding a used one to toy around with, lol.
