What is the difference between 100 and 200% rendering in overwatch?

I cannot really tell the difference besides my fps plummeting.

from a quick google it seems to be a setting that renders the game at a percentage of your display resolution.

AKA 100% on a 1080p screen is the engine running native res

200% on a 1080p screen is the engine running at 2160p (4k) and downscaling to 1080p.

200% renders at twice the size then downscales to 1080p, so basically DSR.

I observe slightly sharper textures with rendering set around 105-110%. Anythingn over that seems to offer little benefit and massive performance hits.

200% is like running at 4K. Should give a smoother image but I've found that sort of thing is hardly noticeable, if at all.
