If someone finds the old beautiful graphics in games, without shimmering/low lod, in stores/friends/random people/places etc., try shooting monitor/tv with your cellphone camera as a proof. That's all i can say

This video looks good. Skip to 7:00 for best example. No massive shimmering on any buildings (only slight shimmering on the louvres which actually IS normal and acceptable).

He is playing at a much higher resolution than you, 1920x1080 or higher.

 

It makes a big difference.

2012, interesting. Have you tried the new "remastered" version? I see on steam people complain about "blurry" graphics quality, probably the game uses new anti-aliasing methods

Even on 1080p i have to use x8 MSSA in some games, in 2017 i didnt even use any AA for decent image quaity.

8xMSAA is how you get rid of jaggies.

Don't pretend it's normal when it's actually not and you know it. Or someone (devs/companies) deliberately makes you (i mean all people) move to new resolutions and better gpus, even if it is a fact games don't have to look so terrible. I don't want to repeat and prove that the games didnt look so ugly and bad before.

Objectively and factually, higher res diminishes these issues, not fully but largely, 8xMSAA fixes things because it is a proper AA solution.

Even when 2k/4k or "proper" AA solutions doesnt fix all issues. that's says a lot

I also posted another video in 1080p with the problem clearly visible. The difference is obvious.

 

God, I'm gonna have to buy a 1080p monitor just to get rid of these people saying my resolution is the issue...

I would advise you to buy, it will reduce your suffering a lot, just turn on vsr. I install AC3 Remastered and this version is playable but i still see shimmering on windows and roofs. Anyway, with this problem, I only play competitive games where graphics are not so important.

GTA V has a built in VSR option. It makes the patterns finer, but it's still noticeable.

Some games with TAA, TSAA looks a lot better on high res, but as you said still noticeable but "less visible", low lod and bad shadows still there depends on the game. At least it makes some games playable, you''ll get better picture anyways

dude i play at 1920x1080 too and get this stuff, higher resolutions improve this but dont solve it.

I tried my pc without my power strip and the problem still existed - so power strip damaged our pc anyway and we can only buy another pc with another power strip.

Has anyone tried on Ryzen 3000 and 5700 series GPUs? Also try using the professional drivers on Nvidia cards. They are more vetted and stable. Also make sure you are using DCH drivers when necessary on windows 10

Power strip isnt going to damage your PC.  The failure mode he was talking about can cause noise on the line, but not failure of parts.

 

The thermal overload would just be over sensitive.

Guys, I got an internet connection problem at ABOUT the same time as this graphics problem.

I think I got hacked back then. (about 14 months ago).

I use "ESET Internet Security" (paid version) as an anti-virus tool.

The internet problem is still there...
