Welcome to the club.

Changing systems/ parts isnt helping at all, so if you have the issue, you´re pretty much doomed.

 

What kind of routers do y´all have btw?

I am fed up with this. This shouldn't be my job to figure out why it happens. I paid money to use my graphics card for entertainment and hobby, not to f**k around with it for two weeks trying to diagnose problems.

Pretty depressing, bought my card a month ago. What drives me mad is that NOBODY knows what the problem is, you usually got an answer after digging a bit, but not this time. Fucking hell.

I tried AC Unity, since they give it for free. Same thing. In fact, the shimmering/staircasing is even more pronounced, since the game world is so detailed. 

What have we done to deserve this?

Last time I spent money on a pc, honestly. Gonna roll with consoles, once they get that sweet 60 fps.

YO WHAT THE FUCK, I GOT IT FIXED. I did read that this didn't work for some, but I tried it anyways + I don't have a clue about pc's, so I can't really answer tech questions.

 

First of all, cleaned my PC. Swapped mainboard battery, RESETTED ALL SETTINGS IN THE MAINBOARD UEFI, uninstalled my gpu drivers and tried to install it again...but this time it didn't let me, the device manager gave an error under the gpu (Error 19, something about the registry) Then I fresh installed Windows (Delete everything and don't keep a single file on the PC)

 

 

Pc went on, everything looked like garbage like always, installed drivers - BOOM. Now it's crisp and fine. 

 

 

This is exactly what I have done, maybe works for someone. This anti aliasing thing is cancerous as fuck.

Afaik, all these things have been tried before. 

 

So basically what you did is completely reset UEFI by taking out the battery, then clean installed Windows and GPU drivers. Somehow, this managed to reset the setting that was stuck and causing this issue. It's quite fascinating that even in 2019 Windows programs are still unable to properly undo changes they make to the system, and the nuclear solution is the only option. This proves that the problem is not hardware-related. But we still don't know what triggers it.

 

Keep an eye out on the changes you make in the future, just in case it comes back. Though I sincerely and from the depths of my heart hope it doesnt.

Yeah, I tested League Of Legends, Battlefield 5 and generally the Windows desktop, which also looked like shit before doing that stuff.

Did you replace the cmos battery with a new one or just took it out and put it back in? Btw there can be many possibilities here.

 

It could be that whatever bad in electricity after putting your PC in a state of low power, got fixed somehow but PC showed symptoms after that because it was still running in low power mode. There could be some component that dictates (keeps in memory) whether to run pc in low power mode if there is such thing. Or it was the cmos battery which i doubt. Still we need further investigation. 

 

Also if someone is planning on going to a new city or a friend's house they should try this trick mentioned by SmoothCrimz. But i think resetting cmos and installing new windows/drivers should be enough * at the new place*.

That's not a thing and dirty power has nothing to do with this. PSUs have a pretty big tolerance for input power

Not a big tolerance if you live in a place where even your neutral wire has 220v in it. Thats only one issue out of many in the power coming to my house. I think you are underestimating the power of power LOL. Believe me it has nothing to do with software maybe in your case it is but not everyone else.

It could be that whatever bad in electricity after putting your PC in a state of low power, got fixed somehow but PC showed symptoms after that because it was still running in low power mode. There could be some component that dictates (keeps in memory) whether to run pc in low power mode if there is such thing. Or it was the cmos battery which i doubt. Still we need further investigation. 

 

Also if someone is planning on going to a new city or a friend's house they should try this trick mentioned by SmoothCrimz. But i think resetting cmos and installing new windows/drivers should be enough.

I just took it out, waited a couple minutes and put it back in. The round battery thing that goes into the mainboard, if anyone has no idea (like me)

If your ground is not grounded you have so many other issues than some graphics issue on your PC and I would be surprised you.re aren't dead or house on fire. Please elaborate with tests showing the input and output of a PSU and demonstrate how by moving to an area with clean power the problem goes away.

It was not my ground that was at 220v potential it was the neutral and that's why it was not lethal. You are mixing up ground fault with open/floating neutral fault. I will move to another house in a month or two and also my old house where i had no issue. After moving to these places, i am planning on testing further. Also it's not only about noise in power, there are many other factors in power. I never said that the issue will disappear if you move to a new place as no one knows for certain if it's damaging the components or not.

Okay so say theoretically what would be damaged from noisy power, even though the PSU takes care of it and so does the power delivery on your motherboard and GPU? Secondly why would this be causing the issues presented in this thread? Then it would be a software issue detecting a low power preset and changing the graphics accordingly. Except the settings aren’t changing in the control panel or in game. So, far stretch on this, it would be some windows 10 game feature. Not hardware related at all. If you say you need proof I’d tone down the claims then and be more reserved

There are probably hundreds or even thousands of settings inside the drivers themselves and API, that end users can't even see, let alone edit.

For me: I don't take out the battery but reset cmos settings (basically reset the whole BIOS, even if everything is still at standard settings).

Change power plug at the same time (basically before resetting the BIOS).

If that doesn't work, also install a newer NVIDIA driver (express install).

Flashed new BIOS (whics resets settings automatically). Didn't help. Installed latest driver. Didn't help.
