I've recently built my first PC and downloading and uploading is very slow plz help.

Go to solution Solved by Samppa221,

If you plug in another pc to the extender like a laptop do you get your normal speeds?

I have downloaded all the recent drivers. my internet speed is normally slow but with my pc the internet goes slower for everyone and is almost unusable. i have been trying to download saints row and it took me about 12hrs or more .

ping speed : 231 ms

download speed : 0.33 mbps

upload speed : 0.29 mbps

normal speeds are much higher for me. it is connected via Ethernet with a Ethernet extender.

When I had an Ethernet/WiFi extender inline with my network cable, it slowed the absolute sh*t out of my internet. Once I removed it from the network my speeds were all good. Try doing that to see if it is the same case with you.

What is the model of the ethernet extender, has this been used before, and have you tried without it?

That picture tells us nothing about the extender.

Performance with that will be heavily dependant on the quality of the wiring in the house, and the noise from electrical appliances.

Try a different computer with the powerline adapter, if that is also slow, try the adapter at someone else's house.
