Cpu runs at ~1-2 MHz under the speed I have set.

When in Windows, the cpu is shown to be running at 3998-3999 MHz vs 4ghz, which it is set to run at. It's not really an issue, just annoying to see.

That's normal. Don't worry about it.

I actually couldn't underclock my 5 year old GPU to make it as slow as a next-gen console.

Windows has an error in getting the speed. It multiplies the multiplier and the BLCK.

Ryzen 5 3600 stock | 2x16GB C13 3200MHz (AFR) | GTX 760 (Sold the VII)| ASUS Prime X570-P | 6TB WD Gold (128MB Cache, 2017)

Samsung 850 EVO 240 GB

138 is a good number.

Probably has to do with the fact the bus runs at 99.99Mhz instead of 100.00Mhz or something :P

Apart from freaking out people with OCD it's fine.

My overclocked optiplex does this as well. Maybe it is because the multiplier or baseclock or something uses the evil number 3? IE what happens when you divide 1 by 3...

I'm not worried about it, It just annoys me to look at 3999 instead of 4ghz or 4000 MHz. I just want to see if anyone knows a way to show 4ghz in Windows.

Windows isn't that generous, I've seen people take advantage of this bug by having low BLCK and high multi to get 26 GHz

Blue screens eh? Did you try setting it to Wumbo?

Common sense - if your CPU runs 1-2 Mhz under the speed then what your set, just add in 1-2 Mhz more to the OC

I think I am going to resort to putting my BLCK at 100.1 instead of 100. But that annoys me because it runs at 4004.4 instead of 4000mhz idk

The motherboard I have doesn't let me fine tune by 1-2 MHz unfortunately or I already would have done that

Hold on, how do you overclock an Optiplex? Details please?

i5 6600k and GTX 1070 but I play 1600-900. 1440p BABY!

Still, don't put too much faith in my buying decisions. xD

BSEL pin mod. My core2quad was originally clocked at 2.4ghz, but I pin modded it to raise the speed.

Its amazing to see an overclocked 95w CPU on an unmodified dell motherboard with a puny 3 phase VRM

Not sure I understood that whole thing, but can you tell me if I can do it for an e8400 duo or a q8400 quad?

Depends on how high the board itself can go.

Well what was your situation?

and where could I find more in formation like that?

Ohhhhhh. Does that translate to better performance as clockspeed does?

What processor is your quad btw? And what do you use that pc for?
