The Xbox One summer update is available now.

Cortana is now on Xbox One, Background Music will be available through music apps like Pandora, we’re bringing the most played PC games to Xbox Live with their own Game Hubs and we’re starting to combine the best of the Xbox Store and Windows Store for a single cohesive experience across devices.

Nearly all of the features that were included in Preview in early June are part of today’s update, and there have also been a few additions since then such as Language Region Independence for Xbox One and the recent release of the Xbox app on both iOS and Android.

these bits sound pretty good

 

  • 60 fps game clip recording with the Game Bar: Using the new “Very High” video quality setting in the Xbox app, you will be able to record your game clips in up to 60 frames per second from the Game Bar (Windows + G) once the Windows 10 Anniversary Update starts to roll out on Aug. 2.

  • Top Windows 10 PC games show up on Xbox Live: We’re bringing the top Windows 10 PC games like League of Legends and XCOM 2 together with the Xbox Live community. Meaning, your favorite Windows 10 PC games will have their own Game Hubs on Xbox Live. Whether you’re on your PC, Xbox One, or mobile phone, you’ll be able to see what PC games your friends are playing, share your own PC gaming clips and screenshots with the community, and message your friends on Xbox Live. On both Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs, you‘ll also be able to party chat with your friends no matter what they’re doing.

  • Windows Game Bar improved full-screen support: One of the most common requests we see for the Windows 10 GameDVR feature is the ability to use the Windows Game Bar with more games running in full-screen.  We’ve added support for six additional games in full-screen mode with Windows Game Bar: League of Legends, World of Warcraft, DOTA 2, Battlefield 4, Counterstrike: Global Offensive, and Diablo III. With those games, once the Windows 10 Anniversary Update starts to roll out on Aug. 2, you’ll be able to use Windows + G to bring up the Windows Game Bar when the game is running full-screen.

And my console peasant cousin who wants an Xbox doesn't understand why he should just get a PC. Next Gen of Xbox will basically be a prebuilt PC...

A console is a prebuilt PC with a custom OS and non changeable hardware.

Dell was having a $600 off sale for the fully specced out model, so I decided to get it :P

Fully specced out early 2013 Macbook "pro" with gt 650m and constant 105c temperature on the CPU (GPU is 80-90C) when doing anything intensive...

A 2013 laptop with a regular sized battery still has better battery life than a 2017 laptop with a massive battery! I think this is a testament to apple's ability at making laptops, or maybe how little CPU technology has improved even 4+ years later (at least, until the recent introduction of 15W 4 core CPUs). Anyway, I'm never going to get a 35W CPU laptop again unless battery technology becomes ~5x better than as it is in 2018.

Apple knows how to make proper consumer-grade laptops (they don't know how to make pro laptops though). I guess this mostly software power efficiency related, but getting a mac makes perfect sense if you want a portable/powerful laptop that can do anything you want it to with great battery life.

How do you play mobas with a controller? Aiming any skill shot seems basically impossible. Add on to that moving and dodging. Or did I read this wrong and no mobas are coming to Xbox, just chat.

No, it's fucking ignorance when I told him I would do everything for him, the most advance thing he'd have to do is learn how to navigate steam. I've already offered to setup everything for him, build the PC, all he has to do is tell me what his budget is. You are the reason people tend to think of PC people as assholes. There are no calls. There are no complications. It just works. Plain and simple.

Because I use "bad words"? One, you don't know me and yes I have a bit of a dick attitude right now. It's plain and simple, it isn't hard to take a PC and make it hard to break. He owns a PS4, PS3 and Xbox 360. He just wants a Xbox One for bragging rights, he buys games and barely plays them. He's owned nearly every COD and has no more than 10 hours in each of them, he uses his Phone for a PC just complains about it.

He used my PC a few times, and he is the type of person to deny when he is wrong, plug and play my ass, consoles are worthless and are slow, take forever to install, 30FPS in 80% of games is unbearable, they don't take advantage of high speed internets ECT. Any argument a console gamer has l, a PC simply does better.

I wanted a surround gaming setup, I simply won't be seeing that soon. Next and final upgrade for my PC is a 6700k + AIO, after that I really need a new desk, keyboard, mouse, headset, MIC setup and chair. My 290 will suffice in 1080p for the next 1-2 years and the 6700k will be just fine for a sub $400-$500 card in 2018. I hope. Though I do need a 6700k for streaming, recording and video editing + PhotoShop. Oh yeah and 8 more GBs of RAM. Just going to overall make my setup for comfortable for me to use, desk is squeaky, mouse is trash, HyperX Cloud MIC is trash, keyboard is meh, chair is horrid. ~$500-600 to get all this.

its still just not a simple or easy. no matter what you say, xbox is a much easier way to play a game than a pc can be at times. theres settings all over the place on pc's.

I'm running a surround setup off of a 970. Your 290 should be able to pull that off easily.

 

I am running ASUS monitors that max out at 60 fps though. I occasionally get screen tearing, and Nvidia's idea of triple monitor surround support is a fucking joke. I was using it earlier today, and after I was done playing BFBC 2, maxed out at 5760x1080, when I went to switch back to three separate monitors (instead of one, extremely wide monitor) it crashed my PC. as in complete fucking shutdown.

 

And recently, when that happens, I have to remove a video cable, plug it into the motherboard, and then back into the GPU for any of them to get a signal.

 

Fuck you Nvidia. You suck ass.

Dang, still only monitor upgrade I'd want is a bigger one that is matte and IPS. Happy with two monitors for now, next GPU upgrade though for sure will have 2-3 monitors included. I need a job... Haha
