How to add 3D Touch functionality on Android (no root required)

Djole123

So, as you know, pressure sensitive displays on a phone is only available on the latest iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, but did you know you can add that funcionality in Android?

Difficulty: Low

This is actually fairly simple, since it's just a matter of installing a custom launcher that will enable that feature. If you're not sure what that is, check out this TechQuickie video for more info.

This custom launcher is called OS9 Launcher HD which you can download here. Once you downloaded, you'll be greeted with an iOS 9 like launcher. All you need to do to get 3D Touch is double tap on an icon and it should look something like this:

Unfortunately, there is no 3D Touch on folders.

Since it's only a double click, you don't need to apply any pressure like on an iPhone 6s.

Also this doesn't require root functionality so you're good to go.

How cool is that?

It is a bit annoying you can't use actual force, it has a severe (usually two second) delay and it has limited functionality. However, you still get 3D Touch on an Android which I thought was impossible.

Also is that a jailbroken iPhone :D

There was a Cydia tweak floating around for 3D Touch for iPhone 6 and Lower

and there was a modification floating around that allowed you to actually use more pressure. From what I can tell when you press harder the finger on the screen gets gradually larger and the tweak probably uses this to determine how hard you're pressing.

There are some tweaks like that, however those require a jailbreak or root. This doesn't.

I know EverythingApplePro showed that in the "Best iOS 9.3.3 Cydia tweaks" video.

ios 9 - 9.0.2 is jailbreakable on all devices

ios 9.1 - 9.3.3 is jailbreakable on 64bit only

latest version (being signed by apple): iOS 9.3.3

why not? its semi-tethered :P you could hide cydia and delete PPHelper.

also im talking about ios not android xD
