Router question. Are these the same?

Renegade7369

I keep running into these 2 routers and I feel like they are different, but some websites say they are the same and I'm not entirely sure. Thanks for any help.

I just found a site that says the AC-88u has 8 LAN ports and the RT-AC3100 has 4. Other than that are they functionally the same?

Im also looking at the Asus AC-1900. I know its a couple years old and I do a lot of in-home streaming to different devices (steam link, NVIDIA Gamestream, stuff like that). Is the AC-1900 a good router still, or should I look at the 3100?

I have the AC-1900 myself and I've never had an issue streaming multiple 20-40gb movie files to (up to) three users at a time (from my FreeNAS server via Plex). There are also probably 30 wireless devices on it at any one time (including 6 cameras -- I just had to set up a few QOS rules to prevent the cameras from monopolizing the internal connection). I also run an openVPN server on my router (usually only one client is connected at any time). It's fast enough to handle streaming from my Plex server over a VPN without negatively impacting the local network. My desktop is also connected via wifi and I've never had an issue playing Dota 2/CSGO either.

The only thing that's really missing on the AC68u is the lack of MU-MIMO. Considering I haven't noticed any connection issues with my AC68u I don't know how important that is, but that seems like the most important feature that is missing on the 68u.
