Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge vs HTC One M8

Cs342

I currently own a HTC One M8. It's starting to show it's age and I'm looking for a new smartphone. I've narrowed it down to the S7 Edge and the M10. I know the Edge has more features such as wireless charging and water resistance, but the M10 apparently has much better audio quality. All these things are important to me, so I'd like to see what you guys think on which phone is better and why.

Have you tried turning it off and on again?

From what I have heard it is not worth using wireless charging.

It is slower than wired charging and it costs extra money (you won't get it with the phone).

I like the safety of water resistance, it makes me more calm when around water and rain :)

I own a s7 edge gold.

I got a pretty good deal with it so I am happy.

I'll let the tech wizards give you more specific information about which one is more worth :3

I am in the exact same boat (M8 users unite). I will be upgrading in about 3 weeks. Right now from all the research I have seen I would probably go with the S7 (non-edge) because the quick camera, waterproofing, and wireless charging will be super useful.

I am waiting to get my hands on both in a store though because I frequent areas with poor reception and I need to make sure whatever one I choose is capable of holding the conversation (believe it or not, the iPhone 5's my parents own are incapable of this, while my M8 and a family friends iPhone 6s are).

I wouldn't get the M10. Out of those two, definitely the Sammy.

Have you thought about the Axon 7? It has a lot of the features you might have loved about the M8.

Afaik the s7 (Edge) supports a quicker version of Qi charging.

also those pads are rather cheap

1. Maybe they do, I never looked into it :P

2. How cheap?

2. Why choose it over wired charge?

Is this the wired vs wireless headset arguments again?

The main reason to choose it over wired is then you don't have to plug it in every night. I'd rather set my phone down than have to reach for the charger line and hope I don't tug on it too much and pull out the power brick from the wall socket (which is sadly hilariously easy to do with my charger). I have a dock like device at my pc, but I'd also there rather have a more fluid pick it up and go experience.

It's not a necessity, but a simple luxury I would use every day.

I don't know them all.

Some is about feeling comfortable.
Some people just don't like cords and would be willing to trade the continuous power source for a renewable/refillable one.
Among other things.

Never heard of Axon, I'll check them out though! Something else I'm worried about is using the S7 Edge with a case. Will that block the curved display/make it unable to charge wirelessly?

Have you tried turning it off and on again?

I might be wrong but, I think you use a special phone case, to charge your phone wireless.

As a recent owner of the HTC 10, I would recommend that because of the cleaner OS, plus the audio quality. Both the speakers and the headphone jack are excellent.

I was stuck in between the two and went a bit risky and got the HTC 10. After trying the GS7 I am very happy with the 10. Though how stock the OS was is very important to me, and might not be to others.

Also, the battery life is amazing with the built in software, and Quick Charge 3.0.

Screenshot is an example of the charge times, I now charge my phone when I wake up rather than have it charging all night. \

I am not sure which cases are used to for wireless charging.

Google will probably answer it for me though.
