Build for light Gaming/Video editing under 400USD (No case needed)

So, my sister wants a pc! She's ready to join the pcmasterrace xD

The things that my sister wants to do is some light gaming eg. 2D games and minecraft, but also occasionally stream and post videos for youtube. She also would prefer a mini-itx build.

We already found the case so there is no need to include it in the 400 dollars ahaha.

I figured that for games like minecraft you don't really need a gpu but can use the onboard graphics.

Here's my question, I'm torn between choosing:

a FX-8350 because of its higher number of cores, and probably better video editing

or an i5-6400 because of its newer architecture and shit

If I get AMD i will need to spend on a custom cooler and most likely on a discrete graphics card (But moar cores!!);

If I get a non k i5 I won't need to buy a cooler and HD 530 graphics seem good (but less cores!)

What do you suggest, pcpartpicker builds are welcome

400$ build with either of those is impossible. At best you can get an FX6350 or A10 7890K (both with wraith coolers).

Your not getting a 8350 in itx.

If you screen recording use quicksync to use the gpu instead of cpu for encoding. You don't need a i7 for editing.

He won't be getting a GPU thus using quicksync with HD 530 will be a pain in the arse

How? you can use quicksync when the igpu is your main gpu. It won't hurt performance.

here you go. You could replace the gpu with a faster cpu(i5 6400)

It will - Intel HD and the CPU are both interlocked via TDP - so when the CPU experiences more load the GPU performance drops significantly.

They do. My i5 4590 does, so does the i5 6400. It's impossible for the CPU to be used at more than 50% without having the iGPU clocks drop in half.

Look at my build. 6100+750. Better than i5 is most uses. Use nvec for recording. Most video editors like gpu more than a bit more cpu.

FX 6350 + 750 Ti is best. Has the Wraith Cooler bundled (free 212 EVO), MUCH better at video editing/streaming and the 750 Ti is a decent entry-level GPU

Would something like this be good as well?

Maybe buy a GPU later?

Look at my build, much faster for about the same price. i3 6100+ gtx 750 would be much faster than a apu.

Yes, that should work fine. Maybe get 1866MHz RAM for the iGPU - it will increase performance by 15-20%

@Stoinberg don't get the T4 cooler - the 7890K comes with a better cooler, use that one. It's called  the Wraith Cooler

You can get 8gb of ram and replace the ssd.

i3s aren't exactly good for streaming - actually, they're flat out bad for it. Having only 2 cores for MC workloads is not great.

Your not using the cpu for streaming, your using the gpu. Also the i3 is faster in multithreaded tasks. Look here http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/1645?vs=1497
