Converting CR2 to JPG

So I started to take my pictures raw on my Rebel T5 and it is CR2. Nothing I have will open it up and would like convert them to JPG for use on shutterfly for my parents.

Good luck, Have fun, Build PC, and have a last gen console for use once a year. I should answer most of the time between 9 to 3 PST

You can open it with Photoshop, Lightroom, and other RAW converters.  Canon gives you the EOS software with the camera that can read it.

Which software are you using?  You can open with the EOS software (free from Canon) and convert to other image formats.

By the way, RAW gives you a lot of latitude to edit the image.  So make sure you edit your CR2 files the way you want before exporting.

ok will probably stay capturing in RAW to edit then convert into JPG

You can shoot in raw+jpeg so you have a easy to upload file.

yeah but then more storage is used. I do have a 64gb SD card but eh.

As others have suggested, the Canon software that comes with the camera is good (but slow if you want to edit a lot of photos). You can get an free copy of Lightroom for 30 days, which then costs $10 a month after that, I'd suggest giving ti a go and seeing if you like it.

no am fine with the canon software. it is slow unless you enable gpu acceleration

It's individual photo speed is good, but Lightroom has a lot of tools for syncing/copying/comparing edits that can speed things up considerably if you are going through a couple hundred photos at a time.
