Probability should not be ignored. If we have a separate world (not this world but an imaginary world) in which 90% of cars from America are objectively terrible and the majority of cars from Japan are objectively good, then one could argue it's a reasonable statement to make that you don't want an American vehicle, even though there is technically the 10% that are just as good. Does not mean that there are any underlying anti-American implications, but rather the individual deemed it worthy to disregard the 10% in favor of what they believe is a reasonable probabilistic assumption.

10% sounds awfully high....There's the Corvette Z06, there's the Ford pickups, most other Fords are decent but still outclassed, and everything else is just garbage.

@Stefan Payne can you please calm down a bit? I read a review that said it had multiple 85c capacitors. The review was wrong, my bad. Sorry. Also, I didn't say Chinese can't do good stuff. I just said that the capacitors are Chinese made. If you thought that by saying this I'm saying that Chinese stuff is not good, I don't think it is my problem. However my name (which has NOTHİNG to do with Nazi's) is a bit offensive I think. It is just a name in my country. Maybe you are offended by it, I'm sorry. If I did something wrong or insulted someone I'm really really sorry.

Masterwatt 750 uses mainly Taiwanese Teapo SC caps on the secondary side (OF COURSE, 105ºC, as 99% of units), which could probably outlast other components of the PSU. The Achilles heel of that unit is the crappy semi-passive mode, not caps in my opinion.

The MWE is better, but why are those your only options? What are your specs?

My current build is:

  • GB H61M-S2P-R3
  • intel core i3 2120
  • 8 GB DDR3 RAM
  • 1.5TB HDD 5400 RPM
  • vios 500w psu

running on Windows 7 Ultimate.

I am upgrading to gtx 1050ti/1060 (undecided yet) :P and a friend of mine has the 2 new CM PSU units, one of which he'll give me.

I did some research on those 2 psu but couldn't find any.

feels like it, but I'm not an expert so :P

pretty embarrasing when this thing competes with tier 1 units in price, and I'm not sure what the hell they're doing pairing this with 10 years warranty too

So Credit where it is due, a few months ago my Antec EDGE650 Died and was giving my PC BSOD.

So after a long time me dragging my feet, 3 weeks ago I contacted Antec, and even though I now Live in New Zealand and the PSU was bought in South Africa and I didn't have a proof of purchase, they just wanted the serial number on the PSU and informed me that the EDGE is no longer in production they sent me a one of the newer design Earthwatts Gold Pro 750w that arrived today.

I noticed we don't have the Earthwatts Pro series on the list only the normal one.

Really happy with the service I received.

i7-4770 / Z97 / GTX 980 / Corsair 16GB  / H90 / 400C / Antec EDGE / Neutron GTX240 / Intel 240Gb / WD 2TB / BenQ XL24

Apparently it uses the Seasonic Focus Gold platform. Looking at the performance, tier 1

Hi. Great list. I am asking what tier would this PSU be in? I am asking for a user here.

https://www.amazon.com/KENTEK-Supply-EPS12V-SLI-ready-PCI-Express/dp/B00596CP9E

It looks pretty shady so I want to know what tier it is. Thanks

Just use common sense!

What PSU do you get for 43€ from somewhat Reuptable Manufacturers?
What do you usually have to pay for 850W Models from other manufacturers?

So lets take a look at cheapies like Xilence and Kolink:

Lets start with ~850W, Xilence Performance A+, 73€

https://geizhals.de/xilence-performance-a-serie-830w-atx-2-4-xp830r8-xn064-a1380641.html?hloc=at&hloc=de

Performance X, 850W, 85€

https://geizhals.de/xilence-performance-x-modular-850w-atx-xn074-xp850mr9-a1674242.html?hloc=at&hloc=de 85€+

Kolink Core 850W, 55€:

https://geizhals.de/kolink-core-kl-c850-850w-atx-2-3-kl-c850-a1610726.html?hloc=at&hloc=de

Kolink KL-850M, 79,90€

https://geizhals.de/kolink-kl-850m-850w-atx-2-3-kl-850m-a1620944.html?hloc=at&hloc=de

And now see what we can get for 45€ or so:

https://geizhals.de/kolink-kl-500m-500w-atx-2-3-kl-500m-a1493219.html?hloc=at&hloc=de

https://geizhals.de/kolink-600w-atx-2-3-kl-600-a1354594.html?hloc=at&hloc=de

Xilence:

https://geizhals.de/xilence-performance-a-serie-530w-atx-2-4-xp530r8-xn061-a1380623.html?hloc=at&hloc=de

Now more reputable Manufacturers with a wide range of Products like EVGA:

https://geizhals.de/evga-600w-atx-2-3-100-w1-0600-k2-a1284052.html?hloc=at&hloc=de

So the most you can get is around 500W with decent Quality.

A decent quality 850W or so is double the price.

CONCLUSION:
they either lied on the label or its quality is really bad.

PSUs that don't have any known information and/or a review are not placed into tiers.
