Hello LinusTechTips.com! I'm a new member of this forum, but an old fan of Linus. (But enough about that)

I am planing about building my first PC. And i don't want it to be "done" for me. So i tried to go in to the deep internet, and look for some parts, that could maybe work togther. (I couldnt decide couple things, so thats why i am here!)

And maybe the parts wont be fitting with each other - so that would also be sad from my side.

For a case - Corsair Graphite 230 T. Motherboard - Asus z170 pro gaming. Ram - Corsair vengeance DDR4 16 GB. CPU - Intel core i5-6600 and GPU MSI GTX 1070 (or just any 1070's out there).

Im planing on maybe Recording(not heavy recording) or just playing games. I play games like CSGO, LoL, WoW (atm because my Pc is not that good). But plan on playing the new games aswell. And i don't want to liquid cool it. Because i am not feeling that "safe" about it ^^

Feel free to say, what do you think i should swap. And maybe help me with fill the rest of the parts that i need.

I got about 1,500 $ in total!

I hope some of you cool dudes can help me!

P.s if it helps, i live in Denmark.

At your price point, you might as well get an i7 6700K.

The 4 extra threads for hyperthreading will help you with recording.

I know I hit a little bit of a wall with my I5 3570 @ 4ghz where I would get that extra oomph from the additional threads.

I would also suggest, since you have the budget, to use a WD Black drive as your recording and editing drive, as that is designed for those types of work loads.

Desktop:

AMD Ryzen 7 @ 3.9ghz 1.35v w/ Noctua NH-D15 SE AM4 Edition

ASUS STRIX X370-F GAMING Motherboard

ASUS STRIX Radeon RX 5700XT

Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x 8GB) DDR4 3200

Samsung 960 EVO 500GB NVME

2x4TB Seagate Barracuda HDDs

Corsair RM850X

Be Quiet Silent Base 800

Elgato HD60 Pro

Sceptre C305B-200UN Ultra Wide 2560x1080 200hz Monitor

Logitech G910 Orion Spectrum Keyboard

Logitech G903 Mouse

Oculus Rift CV1 w/ 3 Sensors + Earphones

Laptop:

Acer Nitro 5:

Intel Core I5-8300H

Crucial Ballistix Sport LT 16GB (2x 8GB) DDR4 2666

Geforce GTX 1050ti 4GB

Intel 600p 256GB NVME

Seagate Firecuda 2TB SSHD

Logitech G502 Proteus Spectrum

The case comes with 3 fans, so that is plenty.

As for the power supply, I would suggest a Corsair modular PSU so you only need to connect the cables that you need.

I personally have a CX750.

You can use this to determine what you need:

As for a storage place..that would be for your hard drive tray that comes with the case.

I typically run SSD for OS/applications and HDD for storage.

That will be up to you really, as some people get those SSHDs from Seagate and are happy, Some are running M2.

That stuff you will need to research, as there is no real WRONG way to do it other than running your OS off of a regular old HDD.

So basicly, the case is good enough, and i should change the MOBO to a more regular one.

Maybe get the i7-6700k

And get maybe 256 GB ssd and a little maybe ~500 gb HDD?
