Microsoft officially acknowledges request for Pokemon Go on Windows 10

AlTech

After an overwhelming response on petitions and the Windows 10 Feedback hub, Microsoft have finally acknowledged that people want Pokémon Go for Windows 10 Mobile.

This is what Microsoft had to say on the matter:

Quote

We have received an overwhelming amount of feedback, requesting that the Store provide this application. The Windows Store Team is looking into options with regard to the best way to fulfil this request. We keep you advised of any updates.

Yay. Microsoft to the rescue because the game developers are so ignorant that they think people only use IOS and Android.

Here's to hoping Microsoft can slip some money into the developers pockets and make everybody happy by letting Windows 10 Mobile users play Pokémon Go.

Game devs can be ignorant and Microsoft sometimes offers to pay studios for development time specifically for Windows 10 applications.

no they can't, both Niantic games have always relied heavily on gmaps and Google's login services in the same way that i can't have Age of empires online without gfwl (and we begged hard for Robot to port it to steam work even if it meant loosing our accounts and have to restart from 0). There is no going around that requirement.

Well I don't see a reason why it can't use Google Maps API.

AND that's really bad programming if it requires Google Maps API. it should be flexible and allow whatever is available for the platform.
