I would say CPU at 100% load and GPU at 50% load.

It's just a guess.

1 - the CPU will be a massive bottleneck for anything above a 950
2 - the PSU is utter crap and I wouldn't trust anything beyond a 950 with that

Depends on the game, but in most cases I would say yes. I bottlenecked my 290 on an fx-6300.

Depends on the game but in general the bottleneck will be significant.

this too.

Why an r9 390 by the way? an rx 480 performs about the same and draws a lot less power.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

but i wouldn't bother 5-10 fps because the gpu is a used one and i will bw upgrading soon but can anyone tell how much frame rate would it will be less

it depends on the game, any game that's optimized for using more than two cores (majority of modern titles) will really feel that dual core's plebness.

games like source engine or flight simulator X are not affected by the low core count, because they cannot use more cores either way. (and if one more idiot comes here to tell me CS:GO can use more than two cores, please dont try to tell me again its normal your FPS goes down when you make it run on 4 cores.)

A lot more than 10fps. You'd be enjoying massive stutter due to the crappy nature of the Pentium. Dual-cores are dead. Using a dual-core for any serious gaming is a pain in the ass. That is, if your PSU doesn't kill the whole system due to overheating (VS are shit)

When cores are missing, you have no room for calculations, unless you can clock that chip to like 8ghz, it may come close to a quad then.

i kinda really want to get one of those "shitty" low end corsair power supplies and torture it.

and with torture i mean ducktape off the fan, and strap it to a 300 watt or so load :P

If the scaling is perfect it would be like a 2GHz i5. But since Scaling is crappy it would be like a 1.2GHz i5 :D

well, i'd specificly get one of the old ones, or a VS.

basicly the cheapest one i can get my hands on, because i doubt corsair is gonna sponsor me for this endavour, and osram could care less about me using a tub of their halogen bulbs as a high wattage ballast because they're usueless otherwise.

my local retailer has a VS350 for €40, still a bit steep for something i'm intending to kill tbh.

that said, i *have* noticed they never had a power supply on their outlet (from returned products) that wasnt on this forum's psu whitelist :P

Honestly - group regulated units will always have more defective units - things like the CX, CS, S12II, lower wattage M12II, HCG and such. It's just the way things work.

well, a lot of their outlet stuff is people who come in for an upgrade (they do upgrade services) and tell them they dont need the old stuff back (there's like some hideously low end APUs on there)

seemingly no one ever brought a corsair CX back in :P

its either because those people are still using their CX's, or because they caught fire.

most of the power supplies that appear on their outlet (which arent a whole lot...) are very high end units that were more than likely just display units.

I don't know if anybody cares. But I have a 350w Seasonic 80 plus bronze power supply that has 57000 (roughly) hours on it. Still going strong. I also have a 400w unit, and it's got a little less hours on it I believe, but also running fine. These things are beast.
