Will an i5 750 Bottleneck a GTX 1080? - 1080p, 1440p, 4K Benchmarks

Thought i would share this to the Linus Tech Tips community, i found it to be a very good video.

Also surprising how "spoiler" i5 750 hands the i7 its ass at higher res.

E7-8890 V3 x2 , 12TB DDR4 @ 1866, Quadro K6000's + 2x GTX 1080's.

Off topic but why do you have 12TB of DDR4, 2x E7 8890's and a K6000 with two 1080's? Is it for work or just because you had random cash burning your wallet.

I guess it's more like the 1080 is beating the 980 Ti than the i5 beating the i7. SLI can have a similar effect as well with newer CPUs. Pretty interesting stuff.

That's really interesting stuff. I just upgraded my PC which had an i5 750 in it. At one point of owning it, I got two of those crazy 120mm delta jet engine fans and attached them to my H60 with a room temp of 18c. I managed to get my CPU to 4.6 at 103c. Obviously I didn't keep my system that way but it was fun while it lasted. If you wanna try this, make sure you disable thermal throttling and high temp shutdown.

I have my own in house film crew, they need power and performance.

I also have a dedicated cruncher folding 24/7.
