A teen from Pennsylvania was hit by a car this week after playing Pokemon Go, according to local news site WPXI. 15-year-old Autumn Deisroth was struck Tuesday evening and was hospitalized for injuries to her collarbone and foot; she also had numerous cuts and bruises.

 

Great parenting there. Maybe this game can also start a movement of kids becoming street smart again.

If you took kids from today and took them back in time to when I was between 10-15, they would be dead within minutes....

 can you imagine a parent who complains about their "hermit" getting out of the house?... LOL..... probably the most exercise this little twit has had since it was 8.

on the other hand........ I don't know, but I'm sure most of the people reading this knows when they're standing in the road......... just sayin'.

Not the fault of the game at all. A combination of both common sense and a disclaimer on the game's loading screen should be enough. And who's to say she wouldn't have been hit if she wasn't playing the game?

Well, the game is distracting, there wasn't any explicit warning by game disclaimer i believe (correct me if i'm wrong here) about users being made aware of

 

i mean there should be a temporary warning pop-up atleast approaching roads on screen while in the game so user can look away & see if there's any trouble

The game is inherently dangerous. It creates a distraction while bringing people on or near roadways. Just as with phone use while behind the wheel, there may not be a safe way to do it.

I think that should be something parents teach their kids.

I think some parents expect schools to teach their kids too many things that really should be the parents responsibility.

Looking both ways before crossing the street should be one of those things you're teaching your kid when they're toddler - preschool age.
