Damn you menacingtuba damn you!

Air tree

Well Menacingtuba has convinced me to get the Viewsonic VP2770. It may be a little on the pricy side but it has NO PWM backlighting, Best response time on a 1440p monitor (Expect overclocked korean monitors) And it's backed with a pretty good warranty (I haven't heard much on their support though, I can't imagine it would be that bad) For $700-$720 it's on the pricy side but i feel it's worth it after some research.

So what do you guys think of the monitor?

Agreed. It's an excellent monitor. It's like an entry level professional grade monitor, but consumer level price.

Also, response time of the overclocked Korean monitors isn't good. You are just pushing more frames that the panel can actually handle, so you see more blur, which some people think it's more frames. Next to a real, well reviewed, 120Hz TN monitor, you can see the difference.

The following monitors also don't use a PWM:

 - Dell U2713h

 - Dell U2713HM (lower end than the ViewSonic you are looking at)

See how they compare:

Note that TFTCentral are very strict, and that downside are blown up. They don't really assume price, and seek perfection. So, there is no perfect monitor.

You basically have to go with the monitor that has downside that effects you the least (or even care about) based on your usage.

You can't just skip at the conclusion with the above reviews, you need to compare values.
