Best $450 Computer for Minecraft?

Spec2jeti

I don't have that much money. I want to build a computer for around $450. The computer needs to handle homework and simple web browsing. I want to have at least 60 frames in Minecraft on high settings. I also want to be able to play some AAA titles. On low to medium settings. Games like The Witcher 3, GTA V, and a few other popular titles. I will be gaming on 2 1080p monitors. I already have a hard drive, case and power supply.

For a new system and amd A10 apu might be your best bet, and could be upgraded later. But in this price range you can get a lot with used parts.

I am a paid professional, but only when I am at work...and getting paid.

But, here's a go. You are very limited with this build. 250 gb is enough to fit your operating system and then some... But in the end, $350 just won't get anything done for you.

Could save 20 bucks on the case by getting whatever the cheapest thing is, and spend that money on a quad core from AMD. Even if he isn't going to use the onboard graphics.

Your best bet is to look for used parts on Craigslist and LTT BST and/or OCN BST.

You can find a 2500K used for about $60 (USD) if you look in the right places. A 2500K OC'd doesn't perform that much less than an OC'd 4670K.

The GPU is where you want to spend most of your budget. You can find used 7970/280X for about $120 (USD)

A Z77 board that has a good VRM is a bit scarce but the AsRock Z77 extreme 4 would be pretty easy to find. You just have to find the right seller as most try to sell it for 4x what it's worth.

DDR3 RAM is stupid cheap these days. $15-$30

Used lower end PSUs can be found for almost nothing. Just make sure it's atleast a 80 Plus bronze.

Yeah... This build has the 6300 while still keeping quality on casing but making the motherboard smaller.

What I feel is pretty good. 120gb boot ssd, and 250gb hard drive. If you're willing to go over 350 by 10 bucks you can get a 500gb hard drive.

I can recommend hardware that meets your criteria for 450-600 dollars USD. I'm sorry but you won't be able to find hardware that meets all of your criteria for 350$. My recommendation is that you save up a little more and come back. However, I am pretty sure you can build a system that plays Minecraft at 60 fps for around 400 dollar.

Thank you for your consideration and have a good day.

I should let you know. I already have a hard drive, case, and power supply. I just need the core components. My current build is using an AMD FX-6300, Gigabyte GeForce 750 ti, and 16GB DDR3 RAM @ 2400MHz. The motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P ATX AM3+ Motherboard

Alright. I thought it over. I will go for up to $450. I made this build. What do you think?

I'm going to get the RX 470 when it

comes out. Since it's not out yet, I just put it in as a custom part for $175. I'm pretty sure it will be around $150, though.

Here is what I threw together, it is a couple of bucks above your price point, but it is a very small amount. Also, why dual 1080p monitors on triple A titles with an rx470? It will probably work best with a single monitor. Also if you want a better case, I'd recommend the Corsair 200R or 100R.

It's because I already have all that. And the other ram stick is to get 12gb of ram. I know 8 is usually fine. But I just want a little bit of head room.

I was just considering the second monitor. I don't believe I will have enough for another one. I have one already.

DigitalTrends: Rumor has it that the 4GB version of the Radeon RX 470 will cost $149 while the 8GB version will cost $179. The RX 460 cards will be even cheaper, with customers having to pay a mere $99 for the 2GB model and $119 for the 4GB model. That’s crazy cheap, but it’s also part of AMD’s plan to reach the general consumer with a VR-capable graphics upgrade at a very low price point.

Video Card: RX 470 ($150.00)

By the time the RX 470 comes out you'd have increased your budget to $500, enough for the higher clocked i5-6500.
