Can I turn on my pc right now?

Not sure what to think of this thread, but it entertains me to say the least.

It's remarkable that this person managed to insert the CPUs without damage while not knowing about RAM and heatsinks (and GPUs).

I slapped a follow on this thread, wondering if this will ever succeed through the power of magical internet unicorns :)

This is why i pay people to build mine... i'm lost with server grade stuff anyway, i can just about put together a normal PC lol. I can talk about it all day, putting it together??? nope.

It's like asking me to build you the eiffel tower out of LEGO... ends up looking like something phallic.

Honestly, there really isnt much difference to normal consumer hardware and server hardware. Unless you're getting into Raid cards or super specialized equipment or proprietary server boards, it's all the same.

Do you know what a MEM2 extension is?

Most people who have questioned my hardware learned something new.

Ahhh yes. "riser cards" or "daughter boards" are what they're typically referred as. "back in the day", you would see those in the form of extra PCI connections and making them right-angle to support more server chassis's. That's definitely more proprietary to Super Micro as well.
