Am I going to break it?

I wonder if my installation of M.2 NVMe Samsung 950 pro is correct? I found it difficult to insert this M.2 into M.2 connector in Asus Z10 pe d8 ws because it took some force. After 10 minutes of my attemp, it was successfully inserted. But when securing the m.2 with a screw, It has to bend a little bit to be locked with the screw, not much but noticeable.  I dont know if this is right, does it have to be complete straight? Or is this just the issue wth this particular motherboard?14683768851752135778452.jpg

Generally speaking, of you have to force something your doing it wrong. Maybe try booting it and see if it works? It's unlikely that it would kill the board or the drive.

Make sure you're using the correct screw and don't screw it down too tight.

The thumb screws are thicker making it push harder. You better hope none of those beads popped off. RIP SSD

yes, that will break it.

you'd mount the SSD above the standoff, not below. there should be a small screw to allow attaching the SSD to the top of the standoff and secure it with that small screw.

Actually he used the standoff ... the M.2 is supposed to rest ON the screw he used and a small screw goes INTO that standoff to secure the drivre in place;

Thanks guy, I have re-installed the drive, it should be correct now but it looks curved a little. Now I have installed 2 cpus and 1 ssd, now do I have to put my motherboard in the case right? Please help guide me, do I have to remove anything from the case first before place my motherboard?  I have never built a pc before.

I'd advise watching any of Linus' many videos on the subject.  He goes over everything you need, including how to install the motherboard stand-offs, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, and here ;) How to properly set it in with the back panel IO, etc.

Building a computer isn't hard, but if you've never really seen anyone do it, it's not easy either. Go watch a ton of videos from Linus of any other youtuber you can find on how to build a computer. If you have any issues at any point in time just come back to this forum, create a new topic, and we can help you! Most likely you'll run into a thing or two (I had a few problems with my first PC that I built around 9 months ago that were all sorted out after I got help from this forum :)), but there's a 99% chance it'll be simple fixes! :)

 

A good piece of advice: If you ever feel like you're forcing something or something just isn't fitting properly, or something looks wrong (like how your ssd was bent!), you're probably doing something wrong.

 

P.S. Since you're asking about installing the mobo into the case, just wondering have you already installed CPU, ram, ssd, and GPU and have already tested those components on their own connected to a monitor to see if it has booted into the bios? If that worked, then good for you!

 

As for your question: Your case needs motherboard stand offs installed. Stand offs are made so that when you put your mobo into your case none of the metal hits in the case short anything on the mobo. Your case should have come with some-they screw into some of the holes in your case and on the other end is another screw hole. Test fit your motherboard approximately where it will go, and place stand offs in the holes in the case where your motherboards mounting screws lineup with the holes in the case. After you've put the stand offs in, put the case on its side so that the place you put the mobo is facing up then slide the mobo in so that the back io lines up with the io shield. After that, just screw in the mobo to the stand offs you should have just installed. That's all for installing the mobo! :)

I finished watching some guides, but they dont explain why my motherboard holes dont match the case stand offs. 

 

My case is corsair 750d none air flow edition.

If the holes aren't lining up, forcing it won't help.  Either the case and motherboard are not compatible, or (and this is vastly more likely) you just didn't spot the right hole.

Hold on I just noticed you've got a dual socket board... did you check compatibility with the case?  Those tend to be unusual, as you might expect.  As such my previous comment may not be reliable; i.e., it is likely that your case and motherboard are not compatible.

Hi, my case corsair 750d doesnt officially support ssi eeb form factor but I have read some where that it will fit asus z10pe d8 ws. So i bought it.
