No. Once you start using it, everybody will. Ends up becoming a nightmare.

 

Just use CPU-Z. Much lighter and gives way more info.

Tested new settings on RAM at DDR4-3733MHz 19(20)-23-23-42 did increase my score a bit in both single and multi-core...

Just a friendly word of advice, you're going to seriously degrade and/or damage your cpu by running a static voltage that high. Especially for that kind of clock speed, I'd dial that bitch right the fuck down if I were you. Read up some more if you still want to overclock Zen 2. Until then I'd run it at stock until you have a firm grasp of things. 

 

If this is just for this test, it's probably fine, but no way should you run that as a 24/7 overclock.

I'm not blaming you. I'm just warning you a static voltage that high on Zen 2 is definitely degradation territory. I'd put it back to stock if I were you. And I wouldn't use any auto overclocking software like that, because that's definitely way too much voltage for a static oc.

This was my dad's system until June 2020. He gave it to me, and I went to clean it (hadn't been touched since he upgraded it in late 2017), but accidentally wrecked the pins on his 1600X.

I bought a 3600, and a few days after, he used the Ai Suite 3 thing and it did its stability test thing until it hit 43.25x.

Regardless, I did a bit of Googling and set the VDDCR voltage to Auto, set the CPU ration to 4, and now I've got a 4 GHz overclock at 1.35V."
I'm content with it, and besides - I think I'm going to leave it here so my SpinQ++ is happy with me until I upgrade eventually.

That's a terrible voltage for the clockspeed. If you need 1.35V to hit 4GHz then it's best that you let PBO do what it wants to do. Generally you shouldn't need more than 1.2V for around 4GHz. .

I have a weird chip.

I tried running 1.4V or 1.35V for 4.3GHz and it always resulted in a POST failure.

I wouldn't bother. Just reset everything in BIOS, enable DOCP and whatever enables CPU boost clock and leave it to PBO. It isn't worth grenading your CPU if it sucks.

 

Not all 3600s OC the same. Earlier chips are worse than later chips, non-X is worse than the XT parts etc etc.

No multi-core because my SpinQ++ couldn't keep up and it hit 90C halfway through Pass 1.

He's running too hot I think. Needs to address the cooling. Cpu is leaking voltage like a madman.

I have no exhaust whatsoever - my only exhaust fan moves no air.

I'm planning to put my birthday money towards cooling upgrades.

Yeah, for sure. The cooler they run the less voltage needed. That's why you see people underclock and get 50mhz more from it. The undervolt reduced temps enough to prevent leaking transistors and increase clock speeds.

 

Never the less most all ryzen chips wall pretty hard even on sub ambient temps. From what I've gathered, around -45c or colder you can jump that wall. Just a characteristic of the processor.

 

I can example my Zen+ running 4ghz under 1.2v at load, but I'm sure you've seen the screen shot before.

I've been directed to this for a cooling upgrade (takes out fan and cooler in one blow, plus will help for future upgrades):

No, don't do it. 

 

You can get a brand new Wraith Prism rated at 140w or 475 BTU an hour for like 50 bucks on newegg or ask a buddy that isn't using his and see if you can get it cheap or free.

I'm not selling the RGB, just the cooler. You can upgrade the fan like I did. It's a SOB to get unclipped though, I'll give you that fair bit of warning. 

Anyhow, this cooler came stock with my 2700X. Lidless, I was able to run IBT at 4.3ghz with a pass. Have a ss of that too somewhere lol.
