Did I say I need sub ambient for 5.3 GHz? :D (air cooling for 5.577 GHz, I can forget about running cinebench at that clockspeed though).

1.7V under air is just fine with a single 32nm core active... I wonder what would happen to a decent x5687 on this board under coldO.o, probably gonna try that at some point this year...

I got a new bench score to replace my old one! I got 1793, the big screen shot shows a slightly lower score but you can see the previous one right before it in the history

It was 2x x5690 at 4.032ghz

the smaller picture was a cropped screenshot I took before I realized I should take an official one with cpuid

Pushed my 4930K to her knees, and got a score of 1261/169 (Multi/Single) cb @ 1.5V on air...

46 x 100 crashed constantly, but she liked 32 x 143,7 better apparently.

intel Core i5-6600K 4.5GHz @1.312V. 100MHz x 45

Is this good or you guys think I can push it to 4.7GHz @1.350V?

Also, I'm concerend about the longevity of this CPU because I literally have no idea when my next system build is gonna happen. Is 1.350V safe? Because I rarely turn of my PC.

Also, does the 100MHz x 45 matter if the value is the same with 125MHz x 36?

You can bark like a dog, but that won't make you a dog.

You can act like someone you're not, but that won't change who you are.

Finished Crysis without a discrete GPU,15 FPS average, and a lot of heart

How I plan my builds -

Spoiler

For me I start with the "There's no way I'm not gonna spend $1,000 on a system."

Followed by the "Wow I need to buy the OS for a $100!?"

Then "Let's start with the 'best budget GPU' and 'best budget CPU' that actually fits what I think is my budget."

Realizing my budget is a lot less, I work my way to "I think these new games will run on a cheap ass CPU."

Then end with "The new parts launching next year is probably gonna be better and faster for the same price so I'll just buy next year."

You can go up to 1.45V on Skylake, provided you have a delid and ample cooling.

I have a regular setup with a CM Hyper 212X. So how far do you think this can go? I'm at full fans 55C under load with my current settings.

I'd stick to anything that keeps your chip under 80 degrees then.

Once it arrives we can see who can achieve the highest BCLK - I’m worried I got a board where its gonna require me to buy more CPUs to get the top score on HWBot though, as it was an easy ride with the x58 boards I have now (Rampage II Extreme & MSI x58 Pro-E, 260 and 250 BCLK...)

Oh nice, ram helps in CB scores?  Right now I'm just at 3200 c14.   Iv never done ram overclocking, I might have to read up on it and try for higher ram clocks.
