I do want Ryzen.  As soon as they make one that can beat my 2 year old 5960x on ambient cooling.  It would be silly to get the newer Ryzen jut because it's newer.  It has to do something else beside being new.  You get it, right?

By the way, doesn't your chip come in today?

Looks like you also did quite a bit of tweaking to the system.  Mines fresh install + drivers OC'd with Ryzen Master, only OC is to voltage and multi.  Considering that's how I'm going to actually run my system on a day to day basis, I'm happy being 200 points behind yours =D

200??? You are 36cb behind at a lower speed so I would expect so :P

The difference is anything with smt or ht is way faster on the newer version. Extra 50-100cb depending on the chip. Once we have a few results in for a cpu it should be clear to see.

Cool, i'll have to retry my new xeon. Also, do you mind that my ubuntu and wine run I posted a few days ago did not have cpu-z? wine did not like it.

Idk i have only updated to page 576 or something. I did update 10 or so pages the other day. If there is a ubuntu version or program = to cpuz just put that in the screen shot.

I heard Wendell say the ryzens work great on Linux as it has already been patched for new cache + smt  unlike windoes.

All you have to beat is 1968cb before you go cold.  Surely you can take out an almost 3 year old chip with water cooling, right?  ?

BTW, thanks for sharing the OC with us.

Considering Windows 10 isn't correctly addressing L2/L3 Cashe and incorrectly utalizing SMT threads, once it's fixed I wouldn't be surprised if that happened without any further OC

If and when they ever get it working right, I'll look into Ryzen again. I'm not much into waiting for bugs to be worked out. Sometimes they fix it and sometimes they don't. Then there are times when the fix doesn't net the results hoped for.

At this point in time, if it will make any notable difference is pure speculation so I won't hold my breath. :)

Truthfully, I'll probably just skip Ryzen if they don't fix it soon as we're getting way too close to Skylake-X.

The Irony of it all being Windows 7 isn't supported yet correctly address both cashe and SMT.  In tests, under same conditions, Windows 7 gets 60fps and 10 gets 45... haha
