FSB holes are only really there when doing sub zero overclocking in very high fsb ranges above 600. what cpu are you using? some cpus are what limits max fsb, its often the low end ones. e2xxx is very well known for this.

What chipset does your board have. most p35,x38,p45,x48 board should reach 580fsb easily. and lastly, what are your voltages?

---

@iHardware Shelden have you tested the max fsb of your board? The e8400 needs quite high fsb for high clocks because it is a high clock/low multi chip, about 515fsb for 4.5ghz

No idea but I think my max was 550 I went to but I was limited by cooling so I stopped

Can you stop breaking things please :P

You seem to break all your boards, you're as bad as @TheGamingBarrel just he runs phase cooling with basically no insulation ..

Chuck the board in a dishwasher and let it dry for 48h. Remove battery please

Let me join thegaingbarrel and sheldan. I just broke the p5q3 deluxe wifi/ap i was using for the e8400 5.3ghz sub :P

@iHardware Shelden My board that died today was supposed to be for a daily pc that i was going to finish next month. Now its dead. I haven't had a daily pc for almost 1 year :D

Here is my r11.5 score. I reckon that the single core performance @5.2ghz is better than that of a skylake intel pentium at stock which is not bad considering that skylake pentium is like 9 or 10 years newer. in some areas, the 5.2ghz e8400 would smash a stock skylake pentium

Probably cpu limited.. tried it in the rampage formula over 500fsb?

just so you know X48 is a little more NB volt happy than P45 etc.

I agree, osunds like fsb limited chip. X48 is definitley more capable than just 500 fsb. most of Your voltages are spot on, however you should try raising vNB to 1.45v and try again. Also try raising your vfsb a bit higher since this is a 65nm chip whcih requires higher vfsb for 600fsb than 45nm.

You tested the max fsb with the multiplier at 6x, right?

Edit1: You will need about 1.62 vNB with X48 chipset to get 600fsb

edit2: I have e6550 and i remember that it was fsb limited
