Hit my goal of 4000+ point pass on my R7 1700 finally!

That's awesome to see, I've been trying to hit 4k on my 1700 since r20 came out haha, best I've gotten is 3975. Sadly I cap out at 3.93ghz in bios before failed boots, and cinebench crashes with ryzen master over 4ghz. Tweaking memory pushed me past my initial 3935 barrier, but 14,16,16,32 at 3200mhz is as much as it can handle. I'm sure if I invest in a bit better memory I could get there.

I did this on 2666mhz CL18 and didn't even know it (got a failed boot at some point during testing, I repeated the 2666mhz CL18 runs and got between 4011 and 4026.  So was not the 3600mhz CL18 kit I have that helped this.  To test this I swapped in a CL14 2133mhz 16gb kit I have - scored 4011 lowest.  Just sharing my findings over the last 24 hours.

Want to know the final secret?

Set Task Manager priority to CineR20 to Realtime (will lock up PC actually during stress test and then will unfreeze at end of Cine run) and then drag CineR20 to be completely off screen until only the run button is showing basically.  Now hit "run" - Voila free 70 or so points.  I just couldn't crest 4k without this tip (thanks @OlympicAssEater) - now get those points!

Then if it was like the seller (exact same eBay situation) I got em from then they were pulled off the H80i which had the SP120L on them.  Though I wanna say I may have paid just a hair more than you did.  However, I only got six of em.

So why is it my 3600 only clocks at ~3.9GHz in this?

cb15.thumb.png.21b6dc562021062a65cd9b45728d9ba3.png

And is this a good score?  I definitely beat the Intels!  Lol

Well actually I wanted a test that maxes out my cpu - it pretty much reaches 4.2GHz while gaming but when I do tests it's like ~3.8-4.0 only.  Odd?

Max boost refers to single core 4.2ghz.

All core boost should be 3.9-4.0ghz.

So that just means games make more use of single core performance generally because I see that being hit  quite a lot?  But then I also wonder why it sometimes just stays at ~4.0 on all cores for example.

Edit: ah I see,  doing that single core test it goes to ~ 4.15 occasionally... thanks.

I'm really tempted to use the boost button in MSI command center,  that did wonders with my old Ryzen 2200G.

I'm even more tantalizingly close to 4000. 4.02ghz is the furthest I've been able to get this thing, and adding @Tristerin's realtime trick gave me that little extra boost. I think I can get there if I can work out another 10 or 20mhz. My system is just so sensitive past 4ghz haha, it's such a gamble whether it'll crash or not.

I implore you to try this at 2666mhz on your ram, timings be damned, and let me know your results.

I think you will be more stable and able to push that little extra out, and from my research its the MHZ of the CPU not the RAM that gives you great results incrementally

Sadly while I was able to push my cpu to 4.03ghz after dropping my ram to 2666, I still got between 3980 and 3990. I'll try and work on it more next weekend because I'm obviously missing something important. I'm thinking it might be a thermal limit since I'm still only air cooled, I'm definitely pushing over 80c under load with these ocs.

I couldn't push this OC on a 240mm AIO which is similar to performance to most high end air cooling, had to build a 600mm worth of radiator space loop lol - cause Cine would spike it to shut down - Good luck!

Terrible fresh delivered 9900k.. 1.41v and still unstable at 5 GHz but fully stable at 4.9 at 1.264v (maybe because of the 9900 KS?)

Is it stable at 4,4GHz with that low static voltage? Almost tempted to grab a 3600X over a 3600

EDIT: Didn't see u said 1.38V. Did u change LLC to give extra voltage under load?

Main:  1650 v2   @ 4,6GHz   -   X79 Deluxe                -   GTX 1080 @ 2000MHz   -   24GB DDR3 @ 2400MHz / CL10

Haven't had to, stable yeah and voltage is dropping at idle same as before only difference is the max voltage i see now is 1.38 instead of 1.48.
