Someone on the r/overclocking discord is testing a 3600 on a x370 right now.

Finally retired the old 2500k on the Intel Z77 mobo setup and found a deal for a new sealed i7-8700 with a Gigabyte Z370 HD3 mobo for $280 on facebook. Liking it a lot already

Edit: The clocks are stock so 4.3GHz max turbo on all cores from what I could find

Ryzen 2600 on stock clocks till I get around to ordering some AM4 mounting hardware for my Scythe cooler, and maybe some different fans too.

Oh and I forgot to download and run R20 but that'll be for another time.

Did my quarterly case cleanup, voltage is enough for 4.6ghz but cant keep it cool at those temps and its already hitting 90c with linx (not bad considering I am just using a hyper212 and shitty chinese fans)

Good news, fixed my score issue, took a new case, more fans and some sweet, sweet new thermal paste.

 

Bad news the flare x went for rma so i got less that i should have again.... hey at 3000Mhz i should not be complaining.

 

P.S. only used precision boost, the clock was at 4Ghz stable with small boost to 4.2Ghz

 

The lower score was before the swap to the new case, so yeah, thermals do matter lol

You done any f clock or memory oc yet? Those seem to bring the biggest improvements.

I did upclock the memory slightly to 3200MHz over its rated 3000MHz but that's about it

R20, i7 4950HQ @ 4Ghz all core OC with 8GB DDR3 1866 nets a score of.....1880

Same config in R15 scores 800.

Both runs see a TDP of about 50W which is nice.

How do I scale the rendering image or the window to fit? It's kind of off the screen on my TV lol.

Man, I'm really hating being poor at this particular moment.  Seeing all these folks moving on from the 2700X leaves me with nobody to play with.

i did not buy very much for 5 months before this  the boards are very expensive. ch8 shipped today, so it came early, i should have it tomorrow.  

 

The other thing i have seen is the chip does not cool well on water vs air, the temp drop is only about 5c which is lame. means i can do 4.4ghz on water.

No F-clock oc yet? I'd say you should push that b die to 3600 cl14 and bring F-clock to 1800, make sure to also tighten sub timings.
